Not everyone is into ordering vehicles and you can't sell what you don't have. I went to the 4 nearest Ford dealers today and the only Ranger on any of the lots was a used 2021.
However, I am into ordering and I still haven't ordered one yet. Between pondering back and forth on ordering an F150 or a Ranger and little to no movement on both assembly lines I haven't been too motivated to get my order in, but now that things are starting to move I gotta do something soon.

Hopefully they can increase the ranger production to more than one a month off the assembly line! lol

Well everyone seems to be so 'gaga' for the new Tacoma. Perhaps it is best for Ford to delay and plan some smart marketing events, and allow some YouTube driving reviews, etc. It would be really nice to see a few on the road too.

Ford hasn't really built many North American Rangers in the past 6 months, so that means no supply at the dealers. Any 23 Rangers still on dealers' lots arent' going to be sold when people know the 24's are coming soon (although it has been longer than we all expected). It is hard to sell a model when you don't have any of them to sell.

I’ll tell you why. The public opinion (myself included) is that the new ranger looks terrible. Really horrible, compared to a decent looking Colorado and great looking Tacoma.

that’s unlike the new Raptor which looks great according to most people on forums. Also the new Raptor capability is amazing and price is reasonable. So myself, 2 friends and a few people I talked to who are in the market for a mid size wanted to get one. But it’s impossible to get because there is 1 allocation for it per dealer. And crazy markups. So we all decided to go another route.
I have a deposit for a Tacoma (any trim included pro) at MSRP, and I have a writing from my Chevy dealer for a ZR2 a MSRP.

Ford lost me and any person in my circle as customers because they do not want to produce/sell the only exciting Ranger: the Raptor. Good luck to Ford!

I think that was a really important ten to rant. I hope Ford is listening. I also would add that they're very late on the draw. They're going to be the last automaker to get their new truck out the door.

Yea my dealer has not had one on the lot in years that I have seen.
They are order only and most people will not buy something they have not sat in. People do not see it on a lot and go hey that looks like a nice truck I will stop in and take a look. Hell most people do not even know the Ranger exists anymore.

The only one I saw there was maybe 3 years ago and they threw so much crap on it and it was soooo expensive. The only ones they get on the lot are ones people cancel out on and don't take delivery.

The article talks about the 5G Ranger sales that is how I read it.
When the 6G Ranger hits the street we shall see if anything changes.

I think the looks are quite subjective. Clearly the Ranger went for a boxy front end perhaps trying to fit in with the F150, Bronco and Maverick. Just look at the Maverick and I am pretty sure it is not selling just due to its appearance.

I do think the Tacoma nearly nailed its design. The rear bumper is a bit "pudgy" and has always had a big "nose". :)

Agreed it is subjective.

For me Exterior look best to worst.
1.) GMC Canyon
2.) Colorado
3.) Frontier
4.) Taco
5.) Ranger

Interior
1.) Ranger
2.) Frontier
3.) Colorado
4.) Canyon
5.) Taco

Everyone has different tastes.
Ranger exterior has grown on me a bit. I hated the front at first on the non-raptors but it is ok now. The Raptor front end is been done to many times now and just feels old and time for something different..

Agree, their behavior during the strike was bizarre. Not a single “hang in there” communication, nada, nothing. Never saw a multi billion dollar company so inept in retaining orders. I cancelled mine and they could care less. Are they trying to fail?

Though Ford is taking a lot longer than they should, they'll be far from last. The new Rangers will be rolling out early Q1. The base model Tacomas might be rolling out around the same time if they're lucky. The higher trim ones that everyone wants won't see the light of day until end of Q2 at least.

I really enjoy reading all these comments, good and bad. People calling trucks ugly after waiting for it to be released for months. People raving about it after just finding out they exist. I know for myself, I just discovered the new 6th gen Ranger was coming out in September, ordered the Ranger Raptor in October. Received my February 5th build week yesterday.
I can’t wait until they start rolling out these trucks and this forum can start to be more positive and productive. Then we can talk about performance additions accessories etc. instead of all the whining and crying, bitching and bickering.

The big mistake at the corporate-level was releasing this vehicle before production was ready. They had a big marketing push and zero product available for more than 6 months. And now, the product that is available to order doesn’t even include the engine that gives them a significant competitive advantage. I honestly don’t know how people keep their jobs after making such idiotic decisions.
