I'm looking to buy around Feb or Mar whenever Ford Truck Month is in the hopes of some better discounts. After much research I was torn between the Ranger and Tacoma but after being on the Tacoma Forum, I've discovered what a dumpster fire the new Tacoma is. I was wondering if the Ranger production line bed support enhancement rumor was confirmed true and what the build date start on that was so I can make sure I get one built after that.

If you’re talking about the J-Braces, those are now standard as of 9/12/24. Those of us with a prior build date are SOL.

Thanks. That's just what I wanted to know. I knew abot the "J" braces available for after sale installation but I wasn't sure if the factory was now installing the "J" braces or beefing that area up with more layers of steel.

I was in the same boat: Tacoma vs. Ranger. After driving the Tacoma and then both the 2.3 and the 2.7 Ranger, I ordered a 2025 Ranger Lariat 2.7. I think you should drive them to get a feel for them firsthand.

Both dealerships tried to sell me their products, but I said I would not discuss the price until I saw something I wanted to buy.

Good luck in the search, be sure to drive the test drive both at local start/stops, and some highway speeds. I learned a lot from my test drive.

The one thing about Toyota that prevents me from considering one is not being able to order what I want. You have to hope Toyota builds it and you can get it.

I found that to be true also (about Toyota). I enjoyed ordering precisely what I wanted and agreeing to a price at the time of order. So now it's a hurry up and wait for Ford to build it. I do have a build date, so that's exciting.

My Ranger Lariat was built on September 9th and after much research by the dealer it was determined that the bed support was the enhanced version. This was the first Ranger that the dealer had issues with dealing with bed support.

I get being a brand fan, but if you expect me to shell out almost 60k, I should be able to get exactly what I want. The fact so many people line up to pay large sums of money to have Toyota dictate what you can get is insane to me.

Are the j braces now a recall item? my 2024 Lariat was built in August, just missed the factory install of the j braces.

I had a July build RR purchased in Sept. The dealer covered the JBraces and install once they could get them. Took about 6 weeks to get and was covered with install under some customer sat program.

Should be on the drivers side door placard.
It is - says 9/24 ................................. so that doesn't help much if a date of 9/12/24 was when they started installing them. Presume I can see this if I crawl underneath and look ................... has someone posted a picture of where to look and what they look like ?
