Please let us know if the optima solves this problem long term. Ford has told us that the system is designed for AGM technology and an aftermarket battery won't solve the problem. Also remember that when charging/Maintaining the battery please connect the negative conductor to a body ground. NOT the negative post of the battery. If you don't follow this charging protocol then the computer won't recognize the state of charge properly.The price of an OEM battery is

@Big D replied on this post and stated the problem isn't brand specific. So, given the fact that all new vehicles have a plethora of modules etc that will draw power when the engine is off it stands to reason.
