If I need to disconnect the battery on my XLT 2.3, what will reset and what memory information will I lose? I would think it would be good to go once its reconnected, but Ive read mixed things about this and want to prepare for any settings resets. Thanks

they make a little deal that hooks into the lighter and has a 9v battery in it so it keeps your radio settings and all those type of things when you disconnect the battery

Nice. Just grabbed one of those for $10. For anyone who has unplugged the battery, did it throw any anti theft codes or anything like that?

No. I had my battery disconnected for a few hours when doing my compressor wiring. Didn’t loose a single setting. Like it was never disconnected

You don't lose anything, seems all settings are stored in non-volatile memory. Done it a few times, mostly to reset the "R" button not working. Plugged back in, no codes, no honks, no sirens, no issues.

Cool. Hard to believe something as trivial as disconnecting the battery would lead to drama, but some other threads referenced lost data or codes thrown. Glad thats not the case.

Now its up to me to create the drama as I play electrician....

Thanks

I didn't lose anything, just the auto windows that needed reprogramming.

My wife and I both lost the function of our "R" buttons this morning, assuming it's the software update everyone got last night. Is there anything I need to know so I don't break something while disconnecting and reconnecting the batteries?

Just be somewhat careful with the plastic battery post covers. They're designed to snap on and off and bend but they are plastic, I've seen them break. Not end of the world and they still snap and stay in place, just be aware.
