2025 XLT - wheel arches are matte black and not painted like previous 2024 model

Anyone else with 2025 models, particularly the XLT trim, that have flat black/matte black fender arches? Not a big deal but probably would have preferred the painted carbonized gray.

I think that's in the MY25 changelog; it's what Ford refers to as 'molded-in color'.

sports have the painted, but even in 24, if you had an xlt- you could end up with body matched, black plastic, or the carbonized/magnetic grey depending on what you got. pretty damn confusing

That's weird as hell. I thought all 24 XLT models came with the painted gray fender trim.

yeah so base xlt- black. chrome package- body color
sport was the grey painted

My 24 XLT w FX4 has the carbon painted wheel trim (11/24 build)

Id prefer unpainted matte black I think. The painted gray are OK but on an FX4 unpainted would be more on style for offroad.

What I find interesting is, even the "base" Lariat has the matte black fender arches for 2025. I'm pretty sure those were body colored for 2024 as well but maybe I'm wrong.

My 2024 Lariat FX4 has painted grey arches. Irony is I would have preferred the unpainted.

I looked at the 2025 order guide.
Sport package gets the matt wheel lip molding XLT and Lariat
For me that would be a no go. Makes the Lariat sport look cheap.
Chrome and Black packages get body color.

Hoping Ford could answer this: Why can't you get painted body color wheel lip moldings on a Lariat? It is kind of ridiculous that a "Black Appearance Package" or "Chrome Package" changes the wheel lip moldings to the painted body color while the Lariat gets the MIC (molded grey) ones. It's literally keeping me from ordering a Lariat, and I don't want the Black or Chrome package to get the painted body color ones.

I'm so dissapointed by Ford's ridiculous package requirements these days. I miss the old days where you could add something by checking a box or by asking the salesman to custom order a small option.
