Why is the spare speed limited?

It is 112t or 118 mph versus the Tires on the vehicle 111t

so the spare even has a slightly higher load rating

Edit 0.01” difference in diameter, perhaps an issue

i feel like at some point i will get a matching 18“ rim

i make the occasional trip where aaa is not an option

hmm that sticker is surprising. T rating is 118mph. I gotta believe the rim is strong enough to support the weight or normal truck abuse. 255/65/18 vs 255/70/17 is same overall size, or within 1/8" variance I've seen recommended for AWD. head scratcher.

Yeah I would say the difference in diameter would be the reason. Smaller wheel will be turning faster and at speeds it may cause issues with the diff?

I took my sticker off the first time I dropped the spare down. On the RR the spare tire is identical to the other four tires, mounted on a steelie.

Peel it off it it worries you.

they are the same diameter and width but on a smaller rim

except the raptor where the spare rim is the same diameter

The spare is also a fully rated tire, not a donut

So it is a full size spare, I guess technically
