Side Curtain Airbag Recall / Warranty Repair Now Available

I tried searching and didn’t find any recent (within the last couple weeks) posts about the airbag recall. I know it was talked about quite throughly when it was announced. But I just went in to my FordPass app today and noticed the recall now says “Schedule your free recall service with a dealer” and where it used to say parts weren’t available yet, it now says “Parts are now available to repair your vehicle….”

Anyone else seeing this or just me? I haven’t received a notice from Ford about parts being available yet so I am assuming this has to be really recent? I am going to try calling my dealer this week to see if I can get it scheduled.

Yeah I see the same thing. To be honest, I'm not going to get mine fixed for a bit. Let the masses get there's fixed and maybe down the road I'll get it repaired. You know shit is going to be messed up when you get your truck back. Scratches that where not there before, etc etc

an addendum to the old saying about buying a first year of a new model is now to not be the first guy in for the recalls because there will be rattles in your interior when done, ha ha ha.

That's exactly my thought process. Let them get good with them. If I'm in a situation where I'm being ejected, I doubt that piece of metal will help anything.

I'll try to get my dealer to install or let me install soundproofing mats as they have to remove the liner

I asked my dealership, they said it had to be done there. I’m going to wait a bit and ask again after they’ve completed a few.

So, the recall was an issue where if the side airbag had to deploy, it would get ripped open. The shielding they are adding is used in the deployment of the airbag, to protect it from getting ripped. I don’t think it’s an actual metal shield, if that makes any sense, as they are trying to protect it from other potentially metal objects around it.

it seems a metal sheild is added between the airbag and Sheet metal Behind it.

if be curious if it is just in the b pillar area or the entire length.

I'm going to wait until Ford comes out with the 2.7L tune later this year. Then when they go to charge me for its installation, we can begin doing the math for 2 recalls and the time I gotta spend for their mistakes.

Do you really think they will cut a deal on the Pro-Cal just because you have warranty/recall work to be done? And if they say no, will you then not get the recall done?
I think you will be sadly disappointed.

This news means the now discounted 2025 Marsh Gray Ranger Raptor that has been sitting outside on my dealer's lot since June as an unsold monument to modern innovation and technology through four Kansas hail storms with up to baseball-sized hail, 80 MPH wind shear, and rains of up to 3" that have caused the Raptor to develop rust will finally be repaired and ready for immediate sale. That repair will be much faster than trying to get any company in my area to look at and fix the storm damage to my home from the last weather event.
