Had an automatic so never used the e-break. I had a vehicle with a manual tranny where the e-break would do exactly what you described. I did not use the e-brake; just made sure it was in gear when parked.
Forgot to add that I found about e-brake rusting coming back to an airport at 11PM in a snowstorm after my car sat two weeks in the parking lot. The car, a 1996 Saab 900 Turbo, would not move. I went back and forward and back until it broke free. Never used the emergency brake again.

Picked up my ’95 Ranger thinking it had 287k miles on it. Later on while cleaning it out, I found a receipt from the previous owner for a clutch job a year and a half earlier—with the exact same odometer reading šŸ˜‚.

Either way, the truck was a total tank and took all the abuse I threw at it. My plan from the start was to yank the entire powertrain and drop in the LS with a T56 I had built. After about a year of work, the swap was done and I ran it NA for a while—tons of fun in that setup.

But, as always, the itch for more power kicked in. I put together a budget turbo kit and now it’s making around 850whp. It’s been a wild transformation from the day I bought it to where it sits now.

Attached are pics from when I first picked it up to how it looks today.

I have an 04 edge with 5 speed, 3.0 v6, 8.8 with 4.10 gears. 225k miles and i have driven it to other states and my kids have taken it out of state with the last 3 years. Its got the plastic floor, roller windows, manual locks, and zero problems. I upgraded the sway bars, put a hurst shifter assembly on it, and put a motorsport diff cover in it. It runs royal purple or mobil1 for all the lubricants. Its also currently lowered 5 inches because i was going to autocross it till my buddy needed to borrow it

My friend is borrowing it because someone rear ended his car and totaled it.

I forgot to post. I also had a 98 b2300 with 5 speed and the faux stepside bed. It was a base model eith rubber flooring, manual winds, and manual locks. I had over 300k in it when i sold it and i really liked that truck. I had to sell because two car seats and a wife didnt fit in a single cab

2008 3.0 5spd lsd, Second owner. Skipper had her before me, and traded her in with 50,000kms. found and snagged a set of forged Alcoa's, that happened to be colour matched to the truck.

Danni was her name. lol

Old laddy coming out of church didnt stop, or look and came out right infront of me. the dashcam footage of her face, realizing the moment she fucked up... was the one thing that made me laugh about it. lolol insurance paid me for it, and set it to auction. it was still otg a few years when I looked up the plate on carfax. but at the time insurance wanted half of the payout for buyback, but the used market dried up completely for like 5 months for rangers in my area. so I couldn't fix her up.

bought for 8k on the road. insurance cut me 7,400 for it 5 years later. or they wanted 3900 for me to buy it back... the 5 years I had it, all I did was oil changes, 1 wheel bearing and fix the rubber power steering line going to the cooler on front the rack. skipper had brand new brakes installed before he traded it in, and being 5spd hardly used the brakes. lol

she left me with 110k kms on her.

I wanted my first brand new vehicle to be a ranger, and Im glad I held out for my 25. after the accident I got into a 2012 escape. but ranger was I wanted to get back in, just couldnt afford to finance anything back then. 6 years later I got my first new truck. been used vehicles for the last 15 years.

2019 Ford Ranger STX FX4 the black beast; 1988 BMW 528e with euro M kit
My first Ranger was a new 1994 gen 3 XL 4x4 , 3.0 V6 with manual everything; traded it 4 years later with 99k miles for a gen 4 1998 XLT 4x4 "off road" also with a 3.0and 5-speed manual; though this one had the vacuum hubs and shift on the fly knob. I had that one for 8 years and 177k miles; it'd go through anything in any weather...I teared up when I let it go.

Ouch! But better that you miss that great looking Ranger than it misses you, or you would be posted on Ranger Owners We Have Known.

Think that was the Cologne engine. Not because it smelled nice but was built in Germany.

i had a 1994 Ranger extended cab 2x4 2.3 5 speed, manual everything no a/c even. Had to put a new timing belt in it when it snapped. Other than that it was standard maintenance. Truck had over 400k miles on it and it was on its 2nd engine.
