People who are saying "it's a raptor, mpg doesn't matter" are missing the plot and can't read lol.

The fact is that the ranger raptor is significantly smaller than the f-150 raptor and has basically the same mpg which is kinda silly.

Also hearing alot of people saying they they run 87... Is there performance loss from running lower octane gas on the 3.0 like there is in the 3.5? If not Have I just been pissing money away for no reason? Lol
Performance is definitely better at 91 octane 93 is even better. EcoBoost engines have always performed better and gotten their oeak Performance with premium fuel. Not yo say you can't use 87, but you'll definitely lose performance.

If you have tge Ford tune, you must use 91 or higher octane abd ive noticed a Performance b post with 93 octane.

With tune, I get around 15 mpg city and 18.5 hwy. On occasion it'll surprise me and get 19 to 19.5 on the hwy, but only on occasion. Speed definitely plays into this as over 70 really drops the mpg, but our highways are mostly 75+.

The low gear ratio (4.27 front and rear), heavy weight of the truck, square shape, and torque all factor into it getting low mpg, but its also what makes it such a fun Performance truck and gives it its unique function and ride.

I hope they shave some weight in the next gen.

Do you know by how much though? I know the 3.5EB loses about 25hp for using 87, but I have not seen anything for the 3.0. I do plan to goose tune it once it's paid off, but while it's stock Im just wondering how much power I'm getting for buying much more expensive gas.

I'm not a huge fan of the gearing. At least on the transmission side they could've spaced it out a good bit more. Im tempted to put in some proper differentials and change the gearing in the future provided some come out that will work with the onboard computers

Weight isn’t as different as you think
  • -150 Raptor curb weight: ~5,800 lb
  • Ranger Raptor curb weight: ~5,400 lb
For something marketed as a “smaller” truck, the Ranger Raptor isn’t actually light.
The ~400 lb difference isn’t enough to give it a huge MPG advantage.

Engine tuning prioritizes performance, not efficiency
  • F-150 Raptor: 3.5 L twin-turbo V6 (~450 hp)
  • Ranger Raptor: 3.0 L twin-turbo V6 (~405 hp)
Yes, the Ranger’s engine is smaller, but it’s tuned aggressively to move a heavy truck quickly. It runs boost often, and that eats into MPG.

I run the Evo 6 30mm in black.
Been wanting a set of these myself, they have been out of the +30mm for some time with no ETA on restocking.

I "might" change mine to the EVO6 Bronze in 0mm offset for a more aggressive stance, in which case I'll sell my black set in 30mm. Pick up in Austin, TX lol

I'm scared +0mm might be smidge too much. A -15mm would probably be perfect. But im also getting the ADD EDGE bumper, so might as well get wild.

Pro Cal tuned on Shel 93, Tonneau cover (Worksport AL4), got 20.9 mpg on a 134 mile highway trip, mostly on I-80 heading westbound from OH to MI to visit relatives, I set cruise to 78 MPH on highway. I get about 1-2 mpg more with cover than without depending on weather. Can't complain about that mileage with a 455 HP, 5,400 lb off-road truck on fairly sticky 33" tires.

0 is out there. i had 0 offset for some zender star 15x8 i had on my 89 325i bmw. those bmws ran a 25 or 27 offset normally so going to zero really put them at the edge of the sheet metal so i imagine that on your truck, the edge of the rim will probably align almost perfectly with the edge of the fender flare lip, just like on my old car. but you have way more room in the wheel well then i did since mine was extremely lowered
