has anyone removed this?

There are two screws holding this in place. I need to temporarily remove it but I'm not sure if its holding anything else under it. Have removed screws before only to have other parts move out of place. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the video. I have removed the speaker cover. What I'm looking for is the removal of the part that has the passenger warning light in it. It's a separate piece. Thanks again.

Ok. I have a Tackform mount (which is awesome) for my radar detector and my Auxbeam control panel. I need to run the wires up to the Tackform. I'm OCD about wires showing so I'm looking for s clean route. I found a path to the center speaker enclosure but I need to get to the tacform from there. My thoughts are there may be a route under the piece I want to remove. I don't know but it's worth a shot. I did make a fish out of wire ties and passed it down through the vent behind the info screen. where it came out is undetermined but I'm going to try that again. Conventional wisdom says to open up the radio enclosure to fish the wires but after watching videos on that it's a no go for me. So that's what I'm trying to do without destroying something which I'm good at.

I would caution you against disconnecting the lights. I made the mistake on my F-150 (2007) and turned on the vehicle with the air bag light disconnected, and it put the system into an error code from hell. The dealership had a tough time resetting the system to get it working again because the truck thought it had a faulty safety indicator.

Just my .02 on the plan

I made the mistake on my F-150 (2007) and turned on the vehicle with the air bag light disconnected, and it put the system into an error code from hell. The dealership had a tough time resetting the system to get it working again because the truck thought it had a faulty safety indicator.

I thought of that actually. All I need to do is raise it up without unplugging anything. Been there and it wasn't pretty. Thanks for the advice.

I completely unplugged/removed mine when I put the blinky LED for my perimeter+ alarm in. I drilled a little hole next to the airbag lights and put the LED in there, so I had to take it out entirely to get it to my drill press. (I followed the airbag light harness to get the wire for the LED down to the alarm module behind the glove box.)

Mind you I didn't start the truck with it unplugged, but I had no problems after I put it back in and hooked it back up. I didn't even unhook the battery. The screws didn't hold anything else that I could tell either. I think there's actually a third screw in the middle too if I remember correctly. And a 4th hole in the plate that doesn't have a matching hole in the dash (so it looks like a 4th screw hole, but you could never put one in).

if you disconnect the battery before disconnecting the wiring and then hook everything back up inside the truck before hooking the battery back in you will have no problems. Glad someone was able to give you the info to disconnect it.

Wild if the truck monitors whether the status light is working. Cool but crazy if it could know the check engine light is burned out etc.

Odd info gping along with the previous statement....
On some cars, if the alternator warnibg bulb is burned out in the cluster, the alternator won't charge.

Think how much fun the first person to experience that had figuring that out
