I did eco for awhile but lately I’ve been using sport a lot more because.

It downshifts sooner and in traffic I can get away without out touching the brake a lot

And since I discovered auto hold. I turn off auto start stop all the time.

I actually prefer eco or normal on the freeway as sport will downshift too easily when I just want to speed up a little

But sport downhill steep grade on the freeway is great.

I've been using Sport mode a lot recently. I live in the Foothills area of NC, so Sport handles the modest hills ecellently, especially downhills staying in a lower gear and not having to ride the breaks. I find the delayed excelleration in ECO mode annoying.

Also, added benifit is Auto Start/Stop is disabled automatically in Sport mode.

I was actively using sport, but honestly I've found that normal is 'fine' for 90%, slippery when its snowing for most of the rest. I think sport is more summer and fun, the shift points are a bit high strung for running errands on back roads to the point that it gets a bit annoying. I kind of want current sport to be 'sport plus' and regular sport to be 'slightly better throttle response, bit more tolerance for higher rpms with shift points while on the gas but otherwise normal'.

Admittedly still not over 1k miles so haven't reallllly opened the throttle up on anything, still trying to stay under 5k and not do full throttle dumps (keep it 80-90% max after fully warmed up). Break in anticipation...

Normal mode all around 90% of the time. When I feel like grinning, I go for Sport with Baja exaust. Went out to Charlie's Creek in North Georgia and up on Musterground road on NC SC border. Baja mode was insane! It was begging me to go faster and faster! Off road mode was great.

Raptor - normal mode, off road shocks, quiet exhaust, comfort steering, start stop off. For fun sport mode, comfort steering.

Normal for drive mode and suspnsion, Baja for exhaust, and "comfort" steering. Have that and the cancel for auto stop/start programmed as my "R" mode button

One of the things I really like about my FX4 2.7 is that the differences among the various modes are very distinct.

Sport vs normal is DECIDEDLY more racy. Eco is noticeably softer than normal and hugely different from sport.

I think the most subtle difference is between sport and tow/haul, even though it's still distinctive.

I've had other vehicles with switchable drive modes, and usually it's hard to feel the differences.

Typically put it in eco mode (2024 XLT FX4), though Sport is more fun. I added the aftermarket circuit board behind glove box (plug and play) that reverses the auto stop start switch as it just constantly turned off at stoplights (interval is too short). Sweet $100 upgrade, if I want it enabled I just push the button on the console to turn it on. Otherwise it's off and I don't have to manually hit the cancel button Everytime I get in the truck. Highly recommend!
