How to Remove the 2025 silver front bumper cover for repainting.

What? The wrap job did not hold up? That's what I was going to do since my friend does them and only charging me $100. Wont have to take anything off..but if it does not last..what's the point....

Where I go is a chip/seal road. Mostly chip. Ripped it to shreds. However, I really like the look of the Raptor liner on the lower bumper and skid plate. Matches the side steps well.

Yeah I have always liked the raptor stuff. I painted my entire XJ with it before some hood rats stole my 2001 XJ (it was the last year with inline AMC 6) loved that thing, even with the death wobble

Just a short write up on how to remove the front lower valance panel for repainting on the 2025 Ranger. First if you have 4X4 remove the front skid plate 4-15mm bolts, (you do not have to completely remove the rear two they have slots) If you have the lower wind valance remove that as it will need to be off for painting anyway. There are 8 screws to remove the panel. Two Torx 25 on each side up in the bumper cavity see pic 1, and the four 8mm head screws for the rubber front tow hook pocket (pic 2). Then it's just 16 tabs,(Pic 3), that you can reach from underneath and or I was able to reach some by hand, a plastic flat scrapper for others. Just apply gentle pull from one side, down pressure on clip/stays as you pop, push to release the retainer clips from one side toward the other, just don't try to start in the middle for taking off or installing. Mine seemed to want to release better from drivers side to passenger side and install better from passenger to drivers side. Pretty simple task. I just used a green scrubber, clean good, make sure it's dry and dust free, paint reinstall. The paint on mine is the body paint to closely match my exterior. Change color as desired! Bingo!

I painted mine last summer (pics in this post) and it's chipped to hell. Looks like it got shot with a shotgun. I do live in a area where the gravel the roads in the winter and do a lot of gravel road driving and hunting. It looks awful. Wondering if a wrap would hold up better or do I just repaint it

I would try PPF might work better than a wrap as it's thicker and self healing.

plus the raptor paint is super tough.

I painted mine with Plastidip. I like that the texture and color match the other plastic black parts on the trick.

it seems to have held up well so far. I noticed when I painted it that I had already taken some hits from things and the black was exposed through the silver. I think it is just something that will have to be repainted occasionally

I had no problem taking it off. I pushed the little plastic clip things from the inside to out. It was very easy to remove.

Yes, pic 2 are the screws to it. Someone that's removed their Raptor one to refinish will have explain the difference for removal but should be similar!

The reason I'm asking is because our raptors don't have them and i was looking to put them in. On my 2019 you just slip them on. No hardware.

Gotcha, in looking at pictures it appears the Raptor has a bit different pocket for the tow hook. You could probably devise a way to make it work. Salvage yard hunt time to try. Hey, let us know others might want to do the same thing.

I don't remember if there was any hardware for the previous generation. I'll have to see if i can find any to trial for and see how it goes. I almost want to say the previous gen might even fit better?

Raptor liner is harder to come by where I am. Did 4 coats of this. We shall see.
