I know there are a lot of steelie fans here. And I’ll concede that the right set of steelies on the right rig can look sharp. But the new “standard” black steelies on the XL just look cheap. The silver six-spoke alloys were way better.

I really think it comes down to what tire is mounted on a Steelie rim.
I kind of like those rims but would have to have larger more rugged tire mounted on them, maybe something white lettered as well.

I believe these are the same wheels only painted different colors with the sort of tires mounted on them to really enhance the look.

Keep looking. One of the first things people upgrade is wheels and tires. You may score a set of XLT or Raptor takeoffs for a decent price.

That's the first 2026 XL I've seen outside of a rendering on Ford's site. Personally I think thy look pretty bad ass. Though a more aggressive tire would definitely help. Interesting that it still says STX down the side, even though it isn't an STX package.

I don't mean it how it's going to sound, but the XL is supposed to be cheap. I certainly think it's fitting. I'm in camp Pro-Steelie, though. I looked high and low to find a decent set of OEM steelie take offs to put on my old F-150. I think they have a place for sure.

Agree with others - I think all things remaining the same aside from some chunkier rubber, it will look pretty good. Although I'd prefer a silver/grey than the black. I really like that second Bronco @cc1999 posted above.

Did the old XL come with halogens? The new one looks like it has LEDs.

I think those steelies look like the wheels that a 50 mph spare tire would be mounted to. They might look a little better in another color, or with a meatier tire mounted to them, but like pappy used to say; you can’t polish a turd.

My neighbor's 5th gen has silver steelies and I don't care for those either.

UGH...Looks like 4 "doughnut" spares! Do they have the "DO NOT EXCEED 50MPH" stickers?
