I’m a newish owner and first time posting. I just installed a cool system to assist with hands-free driving. This is an open source system that has been discussed briefly on the forums in the past but the tech has progressed a little.
https://comma.ai/
The install was more involved than expected but was also easier than I thought it would be.
I used the Q4 wire harness from Comma.ai and Sunnypilot’s “staged” software and so far it’s been great.
There is a video on YouTube showing accessing the brain box behind the speedometer that is just a slight bit different than my truck but the concept was the same.
I am happy with the device and it safely takes over driving on the highway and in traffic. It has limitations but they are very easy to accommodate.
I encourage you to look in to this if you’re interested and rack up lots of highway miles.
