I ordered one of these for my '25 RR. When it arrived, I checked it out and viewed the instructions. Then I read the Reviews, to see if something in them mattered to me. One of them asked if this was approved by CARB, the so-called air resources board for California. IAG answered that it this was not approved and therefor illegal. So I called and spoke to a rep, who told me it was in progress for approval. A couple of problems for me were the biennial smog check, (not due for the first 8 years) or when sold. If I could simply put the factory hoses back on and get checked, I could give it to the new owner to use as desired. Thats not simple. Some of the hoses had their couplings cut away and were not reusable. So I told the IAG rep that I wanted to return. it. She gave me all the info and told me to insure it. My local post office charged me $87.15. The problem with the CARB issue is that IAG does not inform us that we have the responsibility for any fines, by stating "No Shipping to California", which I've seen many times. If I could have put the stock hoses back on, I would have kept it. Just letting you know, you can do whatever you want.

Getting the stock hoses as backup was cheaper than shipping it back.

Possibly, but Ford factory parts are always more expensive than I could expect. But I'll check that out. Possibly any engine problems might not be warranted, according to my service guy.

The hose that needed to be cut to install was $13 from the dealer. I keep a spare in my truck in case of a failure or Need to go back to stock.

Sorry to hear about the frustrations. It looks like you actually purchased an AOS unit for a 2.7L Bronco, which includes a hood pad to replace the factory unit on those vehicles. That hood pad is quite large, which is likely why the shipping price was higher than expected to return it from California all the way to Maryland. Unfortunately, this certainly wouldn't have worked for your RR to begin with.

Why would a Bronco 2.7 kit be purchased for a RR? The website is clear about a Bronco kit not fitting a RR.

USPS is loosing money and maybe something like overnight or 2-day delivery was paid for return shipping.

Sounds like you should move out of California! Problem solved. 😄😄
BTW, I tested the oil separator for IAG on my RR and did not have to cut any oem hoses.

You could have done your own “on how to survive the communist state of California research” ahead of time and spared a company your undeserved blast only based on your geographic specific laws. Then project your lack of responsibility to do research as a consumer onto the company making it their fault. Then to boot Baulking at a restocking cost. All this could have been avoided.
California is stupid.

Bro he paid 87 dollars to return it at the post office. He fits in well in California

Don't encourage anyone to move out of California...because then they move to Montana. We have plenty of Californians already and don't need any more. 😄
