Sorry, the new black steelies make the XL look cheap

The Escape and Bronco Sport are basically the same vehicle under the skin. Same engine options. Same transmission. None have a CVT, with the exception of the Hybrid Escape models.

We got our first example of the 26 XL in a few days ago. I still think the steelies look good

What the black steelies remind me of is back in the day when black wheels were the new thing, people who couldn't afford aftermarket black wheels would just run remove their hubcaps.
But those steelies look just fine on that truck. Business like. No bull.

That's the first 2026 XL I've seen outside of a rendering on Ford's site. Personally I think thy look pretty bad ass. Though a more aggressive tire would definitely help. Interesting that it still says STX down the side, even though it isn't an STX package.

They look like the cheap snow tire rims they sell at Costco. The ones that go from black to rust brown after one winter.

put some chrome like center caps and you have police interceptor rims on that truck.

the f150 is available in a police interceptor package. i see all kinds of police option stuff in forscan for the ranger so you could easily make a police interceptor ranger if you get the xl in white or black and the traffic would move out of your way on the highway.

I know there are a lot of steelie fans here. And I’ll concede that the right set of steelies on the right rig can look sharp. But the new “standard” black steelies on the XL just look cheap. The silver six-spoke alloys were way better.

Maybe don't buy the XL trim if you don't like it?

I just think if I were bashing around in the wilderness, I’d want steel.

and if you want to upgrade the rims, you wouldn’t feel that bad.
