Decided to go do some off-roading in mud and sand yesterday to test out the RR and its new shoes. Did the same stuff last week but decided to air down to 20 psi this go-around. Overall, I have to say this thing is impressive. I pulled out a completely bogged down wrangler and gladiator separately from a mud pit, and even pulled a cyber truck out of a pea-gravel pit. After hooning it around for a few hours, I went to go try out the dunes and attempted to conquer a dune that I had gotten stuck in a week earlier…turns out, the truck is lighter than I thought.

Update: Added two more videos and also apparently my wheel might be bent. Noticed a little wobble of the steering wheel at around 70mph after I got the tire put back on. Got the tire re-balanced(apparently they all had to be rebalanced as all the weights got thrown off during my shenanigans?) but tire shop says wheel still as wobble despite balancing it. I’ll stop by a wheel repair shop and see what they find tomorrow.

What a blast! Glad some are using the RR for what it was meant to be used for. Too many posts on this site showing off their stickers, decals, and trim color changes.

Were you aired down?
Looked like you rolled it off the bead? or did blow the tire.

Since it looked like all the weight came down on that left front and at angle, I would sure look that tie rod over really good, the oe tie rods are not really known for their durability.

Yup. I was aired down to 20psi and the bead just got rolled off the wheel. I inspected the tie rod and upper and lower control arms and nothing appeared abnormal. I drove it for the day on the spare and just got the tire put back on the stock wheel today and don’t seem to have any issues from what I can tell.

Besides a broken front axle when I accidently hit a rock fast. This truck is a beast. I catch air on trails all the time. Might not be as much as you tho.

This is one reason I upgraded to Method 705 beadgrip wheels. Most people run 15-20 psi in sand for flotation but you definitely increase risk of debeading on hard landings, corners that are rutted or that you take at higher speeds.

Also good reason to always have that full sized spare! Looks like a fun day and that kinda stuff is exactly what the Raptor was built for. Silly kids, trails are for slow a** jeeps

I beg to differ, watch the Baja 1000 videos and the Finke videos of the Ranger Race Raptor, those are MR207's same bead grip design, just a forged wheel. That truck took far harder beating than what the OP is doing lol.

On paper the RR may seem heavy but when you get used to driving it off road you eventually become aware that it is very agile and feels light as a feather in comparison to most of the other trucks I've ever owned or ridden in other than my 2019 F-150 Raptor I used to own. Ford has accomplished what has to be the closest to perfection in an Off Road Vehicle I've ever encountered.

Long live the Ranger Raptor!!!

In Baja Mode, 4H, and traction control disabled, I swear it flew off that hill like it was trying to catch a bird. Honestly completely caught me off-guard. I expected it to stick to the ground but it certainly did not. Lol.

Looks like a lot of fun.
Where was this? Forest Hills area?
I'm near Lafayette, La. and have yet to get my FX4 off road.
