Instead of filing my nice new AAL powder coated bracket, I decided to remove the clips of the plug and sand then down to allow slightly more clearance. Top is unsanded, bottom is sanded. I did sand both down. Once I removed a few mm it popped in with some force. No movement, and it locked in there nicely.

Very straight forward. You need the metal to keep it snug. The plastic is too thin.

For everyone here, that has had issues or not had issues, would you mind sharing if you think we should increase the tolerance of the cutout for the receptacle? We have done a few here at the shop and they have pushed in. They are tight, but tight in a good way. Not too tight that they didn't work. I'm hesitant to make it too large for obvious reasons. Thanks for the feedback!!!!

I installed mine a couple of weeks ago and yeah it's tight, but like you said "tight in a good way". I would not change it.

I have the kit installed, but the 7-pin connector will not clip in, so I haven't completed the move yet. I was looking to get some new clips perhaps.

As I posted above, mine was extra super duper tight. No way it was going in without mods. Filing/sanding down the OE clips was easy enough and worked well. Mine is tight and does not move.

Due to tolerances in the Ford parts, I don't think I'd change your design. But maybe adding a note in the install instructions?

I also thought the connector would not fit, until I gave it a solid smack. Then it popped right in, and fits perfect. It's tight, but you just have to get a bit rough with it.

I had to cut extra on mine, so yes I'd increase the tolerance.

All good. I'm an engineer, I get it.

It is better to have it too tight, than too lose. It only took me a few minutes to adjust it.

I had to take a block of wood and mallet to hammer the harness into the bumper. I'd say a hair more clearance would be a good idea.
