I thought that it was FL-2127
Now I am confused…
fL2127 is correct. The manual is wrong with the 910 and so is he. I’ve already done 2 changes and the threads on the 910 aren’t correct for the 25 engine.

the 910 does not fit the 25. I’ve done two changes already. I luckily had another vehicle to run out and get the correct filter as the 910 threads are too small. The manual wasn’t updated and probably cause ford kept it hush hush on the engine change for 25

While we are talking about this… can anybody tell me what type (synthetic or not), weight and quantity of oil is required for the 2025 2.3L engine?

If anyone is in doubt just ask for an equivalent 24+ Mustang Ecoboost filter. Although the 5.0 filter will work as it’s m22-1.5 thread pitch as well. It’s actually what i used this last change since i have 3 left over from my Mustang. It’s about an 1” taller but fits fine. I added a tad more oil cause of the larger capacity but nothing but an ounce or two realistically.

its 5w30. I added about 5 3/4 the first change and it was near the top of the hash marks and i checked it regularly for the next few weeks to ensure level was good. I added maybe 6 this time cause i used a higher capacity filter.

Thank you! I assume that full synthetic is recommended.

i mean i think the dealers used the motorcraft semi for the most part. I’ve been running Mobil 1 full synthetic. Walmart had the 5qt jugs on sale for 26 bucks which is like 10 off. So i grabbed a few. I’ll hope to find another sale or switch it up to Pennzoil Platinum maybe. But I’ve used Supertech full synthetic, and Quaker state ultimate too on my fords over the years 5.0 or ecoboosts and never any issues and I’ve done oil analysis too.

the fl-2127 is I believe a 74mm 14 flute filter but I thought I read that the black factory filter is a different diameter?

or is that incorrect?

And it appears the manual is correct in the version I just downloaded.

well then they finally updated it as it wasn’t last month. Regardless it’s a M22-1.5 thread.

the filters that come factory are usually a different size for some odd reason at least on most of my fords. The one that came off seemed same diameter as the McGard Plus I had to put on as it was all i could get in a pinch having purchased the wrong filter initially with the incorrect manual PN. But i think the mcGard one was a tad taller. And im glad they updated the manual. Should limit future confusion

After doing some more research, it seems the FL-910S filter with the 3/4" thread is not the correct filter for 2025 2.3l, apparently ford changed it to 22MM threads.

I am not familiar with McGard oil filters. Do you perchance have a part number?

Its just Orielly Auto Parts house brand but they are solid filters and it was for the 24 Ecoboost Mustang
