I tried the stubby and where I live it was significantly worse than the stock antenna. The terrain is alot of hills and low mountains. Tested it parked in a lot with a station selected and changed them back and forth. It was too late to send it back so it's in my armrest rolling around.

I have this guy
CravenSpeed Stubby Jr Antenna Compatible with Ford Ranger 2019-2026 | 2 Inches | Short Antenna Replacement | Made in The USA https://a.co/d/08jZSo5j
I’m another 2” stubby from CravenSpeed user. I was worried about the length of the own antenna. But typically music is either Sirius or USB so I guess it works… not sure 🤔

This made me want to test it I’m in rural New Mexico, about an hour South of Albuquerque. No difference from own that I can tell. 👍

Thanks! I'll have to check mine. I put the stubby on but have been using SiriusXM almost exclusively.

I don’t listen to radio much but the craven stubby seems to work fine for me.

Suggestions? Yeah, if you listen to the radio, don't do it. Your reception will go to hell.
If you don't use the radio, then go ahead, it won't matter to you.

i only use the radio and my truck still gets service from corpus christi to san antonio, which is about 2.5 hours. i listen to the corpus station till about half way, same as the other vehicles, and then change to a san antonio station. its all country the whole drive and no issues.

and when i go do to go to mexico, or to the rio grande valley, its the same distances and all open land and still no issues so i don't think the reception gets messed up that much.

back in the early 2k, i had to get an antenna with a booster on it to listen to the radio all the way on both of those trips in my isuzu trooper 2.

and you know what? driving to omaha nebraska i never had reception issues either. i had to change stations, like anyone does driving across country but i never was without music.

map shows how much of south texas is open land. from me to san antonio on 37 and me to bottom of texas on 77 (recently renamed 69)

Sorry, i forgot most of yall are in states that measure drives in miles.

My house to the alamo in san antonio is 157 miles.

My house to the zoo in brownsville is 166 miles.

We measure our drives in time here in texas at 75-80 mph
