In between the bed and the cab, I have a piece of styrofoam. It is only on the driver's side. I try to move it with a stick but it appears to be attached. I don't want to remove it if it serves a function. It was hard to get a photo but these are from the top looking down.

I live across the street from a watershed that has many pine trees. Because I have to park my 24 Ranger Lariat outside (which I hate doing) a large amount of pine needles are collecting on that material. The space is so tight I can't vacuum the needles out, and using a blower seems to push the needles in tighter. I am concerned about the needles holding even more moisture and causing a rusting issue. So, do I leave it as is or try to remove the material?
