So I purchased my 2024 RR back in October 2024 at MSRP here in California. I am semi-retired now and am working on starting a small business doing residential soft wash services. For that reason, I need a truck with more payload to carry an aluminum skid with all of the equipment and tanks. I could go with a trailer and tow it with the RR, but we all know it wasn't really made for towing.

I had been hunting for either a lower mile used F250 (2015-2023) Gas, or a F150 (2019-2022) with the Heavy Duty Payload Package and the 5.0L. I thought I landed on a 2019 locally with low miles, until I inspected it and found it had been wrecked front and back. The truck should have been totaled since I used the VIN to find auction photos, yet it had a clean CA title, and a pristine new CarFax. Never trust those dang CarFax reports!

So I was poking around at 2025 F250/F350 XL's in SuperCab configuration with the 7.3L Godzilla and the STX package. However, while doing that research I came across a few 2025 F250 XLTs with the Tremor, Black Appearance, and XLT Premium packages in SuperCrew cab configurations. I was liking what I saw, but if I go new, then I'm going to need to trade the Ranger Raptor (which is paid off), because I'm paying cash for whatever truck I buy. Now, for my first rig, I am going to keep it personal and if I expand, I'll put any future vehicles in the business's name. For that reason, I will be able to use it for both work and non-work, which is good because this business is seasonal with a 4 or so month dead period in this area each year.

Trade value wise, my RR has 1,800 miles on it at this point with the upgraded bead lock capable wheels and the graphics package. I think the only thing it really didn't have was the spray in bedliner. I have received several trade offers of $55k for the RR which I felt was pretty good. Anyone have any thoughts on that? Also, does anyone have any experience with the Super Duty Tremor platform? I honestly don't need the Tremor, but unless I buy used, there's no way my brain would let me buy a plain jane truck new at this point. May as well buy something a bit cooler. I'm controlling myself and not going with the top trims which is something I NEVER, ever do. What a difference no longer receiving a paycheck makes. haha

I’ve looked at the F250 Tremor while waiting on service. They’re great looking trucks, and there seem to be a lot more of them.
You can probably negotiate a decent price, but likely won’t have as good of a resale value.

I have had many F-250 and F-350's over the last 20 years. I currently have a 24 F-350 Limited CCSB, HO Diesel and love it. It is my tow vehicle. The F-350 was my commuter until the RR showed up now it's on tow duty only. The Super Duty platform is a solid choice, but for what you plan to haul probably more than you will need. It will leave you room to grow, if you decide to expand your business and get bigger equipment. The Tremor platform is slightly derated compared to non-Tremors due to the suspension and the tires. But not enough to make a difference in your use case. Go over to www.fordtremor.com and start reading up on the Tremors.

I traded my 2023 f250 Tremor ultimate for a 2025 RR, no regrets. If you need that much truck, go for it. If you're going to daily it, I suggest you don't. I broke two molars on a bridge transition. The suspension is that stiff. It is great when hauling, horrendous when empty. -MM

If I had to actually use a pickup truck daily for proper work, I'd get the lowest truck on the market.

The last thing I'd want is an off road package.

That said, I might be prone to buy one and lower it, just to get the cool stuff.

Honestly, most of the equipment on the skid is accessible just above the side rails since it's on a custom made aluminum skid, so the height isn't a huge issue, but I see your point.

Do you need something as large as an F-truck?

In Australia (and probably elsewhere) Ford have released the Ranger Super Duty so no doubt they will also release it in North America including the US.

Prices in Aus look like they will be about 10% less than a Ranger Raptor. I would expect that to be the same in the US (assuming they manufacture them there...).

This would be great but a lot of the overseas trims never make it to the USA, i'm guessing this one included :(

I would love to find a 2019-2023 F150 with the Max Tow and Heavy Duty Payload package, but they are very rare. I may pick up a 2015ish F250 XL SuperCab 6.2L with lower miles and keep my eye out for an F150 with the HDPP and long bed with the 5.0L. I'm going to look at one tomorrow with less than 37k miles for around $21k.

I have a '24 RR and a '22 F-350 Tremor. We bought the Tremor during peak Covid along with a 5th wheel toy hauler and a Polaris RZR. With the RZR we had to tow it a couple hours to get to the closest destination. We sold it and picked up the RR. I'd much rather drive to the dirt, deflate and enjoy off-roading.

The Tremor is great and can haul a lot when needed. The step in to the truck is 22-inches off the ground. At 5' 4" it's a challenge for my wife to get in to. It started as her daily driver. Great truck. It doesn't ride as nice as the Raptor though.

With a Superduty, you're not enjoying off-roading like you can in a Raptor. Yes it's capable for an HD truck, but nowhere near as fun as a Raptor. For the price, if you think you will enjoy high speed off-road driving, go with an F-150 Raptor. It won't haul the same amount as a SD but gives you a happy medium.

Ford Ranger Anyone switching from a RR to a Super Duty Tremor? RR and Tremor

I love daily driving my F-350. Rides great with a set of Fox 2.5 shocks tuned by Accutune. Also run the tire pressure at 60 front and 50 rear. No issues driving it on the chipped and broken crappy roads in CA. Completely different ride from the Raptor, but I like it.
