Yeah I can take pictures when I get home later. I can't remember the part number but it was ridiculously priced to buy new at Ford (something like $160 or $200+ maybe) so I found it on ebay by searching 2024 mustang headrest. There is no ebay product page anymore because I bought it.
I found the part number by finding a 2024 mustang for sale online with the headrest I wanted and giving Ford that VIN.

Sorry guys abandon hope for the mustang headrest it doesn't solve the problem of the stock headrests pushing your head forward. It's not more comfortable with it on and they only tilt forward not back. The furthest back default position is still too far forward and wasn't an improvement in my opinion.

When I look at these pictures it looks to me like the mustang headrest is not tilted as far forward.

But it also looks thicker so I’m not sure if it is any different in the end

Personally the Ranger for me is pretty good but I would like just a little bit more in the top

Maybe a straight edge on the setback would show if they are any different.

The Ranger one is flat and the mustang one is curved so the bars will not line up sitting next to each other on a flat surface. Trying it now the mustang one feels slightly better but I remember disliking just as much when I was driving before. I'll rock to Mustang one again to see if I'm just being dramatic. The angle of the Ranger one is more extreme but the shape of the mustang one mitigates most of the benefit.

Thanks. 🙏 great shot. Looks like the mustang headrest does rest back a bit more.

And thanks for verifying the fit. 👍🏻

Looking at those comparison pics, it looks like if your head is in the lower 1/3rd of the headrest the Mustang one wouldn't be much, if any different, whereas if you are tall or long torsoed and your head is in the top 1/2 there is quite a difference.

After driving around with the mustang headrest again today, I stand by my statement.
It's slightly better but still pushes your head/neck forward. I find it very uncomfortable still.
I will it say it is not as firm as the Ranger one so you can push your head back into it more.

Definitely not worth what Ford is charging for a new headrest. They also have a restock fee if you return it, if I remember correctly it came out to $75. Don't give the stealership more money to experiment with this. I even feel cheated getting it for $55 on ebay. Atleast I have a test subject for bending, if I over bend I guess it is adjustable forward haha.

@bigb I am 6FT for reference and the notches are different than the ranger so you really only have two height choices for adjustment

I may have found a slight workaround for the headrest issue. I got one of these: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYSM9RM8?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title&th=1 and I am testing it. First I drove around with both the bottom and the back and there wasn't much difference because even though it puts you a bit forward it also raises you by the same amount so the headrest ends up in about the same place on your head. But today I drove 120 miles with just the back, did not use the bottom. It pushes you out about 3/4" from the seat back, meaning you also gain 3/4" on the headrest. Unless you put your seat all the way back there is plenty of room to move the seat back 3/4" to account for the extra padding.

On my 120 mile return trip I changed to the bottom, but I placed it on the seat back. The difference is the bottom is shorter so your shoulders get to push back a bit more. I think I like this even better because I found the seat to be curved just a little too much resulting in a slouched feeling on long drives, and it still gives a bit more room on the headrest.

For $38 I think it's worth a try. Once I figure out which part I like best I may stick it under the seat cover.

The headrest remains my biggest complaint about my ranger, forced me into bad posture and is really uncomfortable some days
You're not suppose to have your seat back straight up keeping your back straight. Your shoulder blades are not suppose to touch the seat back in a normal seating position, curving off the seat, thats why they are like that.

That seems like how you get whiplash. You are supposed to have the seat support so the seat keeps you safe in an accident

Why did you use the Maverick? For the issue I/we are having in this thread? I might have to try if it's an improvement.

Maverick headrest was a tilting headrest where my Ranger one was not.

What year/trim of Maverick? I see threads in the Maverick forums saying their xlt (cloth) rests aren't adjustable. (see https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/til-headrest-adjustment.59059/)

Has anyone else besides @dc73pdsgt done this and can manage to take a picture? I'm really tempted to try the Mustang headrest, but if the Maverick is better I'd go that route. I do have a couple of coworkers with Mavericks so maybe I'll ask one of them if they're adjustable, and if so if I can try theirs.
