POTUS & Zelden on TV now (2-12-26 @ 12:30) announcing repeal of 129 EPA mandates including the dreaded ASS on all vehicles.
Let's see if Ford will do an auto update to turn that crap off.

Probably not. Just spend the $100 and get an eliminator. It's not that hard.....

or just push the button in the truck. Its pretty much part of my start routine..I dont even know I'm turning it off now. I opted to spend my money on the bambi flash from 4dtech instead.

Might be eliminated in new vehicles in a couple years as we all know how fast everything works. Snail's pace
As for vehicles built for 2026 and previous ones not gonna happen.:p

ASS is the dumbest thing since the "safety" gas cans that cause more spills. Yeah, turning the ASS button off is fine until you forget to turn it off and try to pull out in traffic.

I live in the Houston area which is one of rhe worst traffic areas in the country, if pulling into traffic is an issue, you should be in Sport mode which turns off ASS. I'm not saying I love ASS (HAHA), but that is not a reasonable argument/reason.

BS...It happened in my wife's Honda Passport. Point is you shouldn't have to push a button to stop a vehicle from falling on its face when you press the gas.

Put it in sport mode or get a simple start/stop eliminator. It's not a huge deal to eliminate

I don't really care for the feature, but people really need to slow down. It doesn't mean the complete end of ASS. All this administration is doing is ending the credits that vehicle manufacturers get to install it. Does that mean Ford is going to spend money developing a patch to turn it off on current vehicles? I doubt it. Could that lack of a credit be enough to have Ford pull the plug on new vehicles? Probably. There is also nothing to stop a future administration from mandating the feature again in the future.

There's still efficiency goals in place for auto manufacturers and this helps them hit those numbers. They're not as aggressive, but still in place.

I could see them continuing to include auto stop start, but offering a way to keep it off or only including it in an eco mode.

Auto stop start was never required, I see that misinformation often, but I was never a fan of it. I do think we should continue to strive to get more and more out of vehicles, so hopefully some of the reduced requirements don't cause US manufacturers to slow down innovation.
