Following all of the other threads in this category and here is my data point.

Was a bit surprised with the comments from the oil analysis company, but wanted to share.

I agree

Note the baseline in the report is for the next oil change (~5000miles)

That is why I did my first one at 157 miles and our second at 2656 miles. After that it will now be every 5,000 miles. I like your choice in oil.

Hey there. Great info, thanks for sharing!
I’m at 873 miles in two weeks! I need to get my oil changed!
where do you take it and how do you get that report if you don’t mind me asking?

Since I use Amsoil products I ordered their test kits https://www.amsoil.com/search/#q=Test&t=totalProductsTab&sort=relevancy&numberOfResults=20

But there are several other companies that do the same thing. Blackstone is one of them and you can search the other threads to see what names they are. If your going to have someone change yours, take a small clean container (3 to 4 oz in size and ask them to capture a sample for you to send out

Hope this helps

Very interesting. was planning my 1st oil change @500mi, 2nd @1000mi and then not exceeding 5000mi between oil changes, this thread has solidified that decision.

Thanks for sharing, it's always interesting to see and compare oil samples.
Further confirmation an early initial oil change is a good idea.

Although it does make me curious what 7,500 mile (from new) oil sample would look like.

I read/saw somewhere that after an oil/filter change that the engine should be cranked over for about 10 seconds WITHOUT starting and running. To do this, push the accelerator pedal to the floor....step on the brake with the other foot.....then push the start button. Sure enough, the engine will turn over and not fire.

Just did my 500 mile oil change yesterday and that oil plug.........yeah........that oil plug is interesting.
