Calibration Tool is included; what do you need the dealership for other than to keep the standard warranty?

Enhance the engine performance of the 3.0L EcoBoost engine in your 2024 Ranger Raptor. Ford Performance Parts calibrations are engineered and dyno tested to deliver more power and increased performance while maintaining reliability.
Working on the purchase with Lethal now!👍🇺🇸
My dealer works with me. I'm using points to defray part of cost. Really easy install. Find a dealer that doesn't want to bother with the down/up loading - simple, 20 minute task. convince them to just do the final install part which is just clicking install on the tool as it is hooked into the ODD port. Many tech ignorant or money grabbing dealers out there, some charge over $300 some are not tech savy enough. 2.3 version also had a K/N drop in but don't think the new version includes it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to deactivate the tune at certain times if you don’t want it running without uninstalling? Can’t think of why I wouldn’t want it, but just wondering.

The ford tunes I have had in the past do not do this, not saying this one won't but I would be very surprised if it had this functionality.

Whenever 5 star gets their tune to customers I'm sure you will have this functionality but it will at least require a keycycle.

Mine does also, but it doesnt have to be the dealer. It’s a really super install with the calibration tool. Then contact FORD Warranty to register the upgrade.

*****Just ordered from Lethal Performance at a greatly reduced price Thank You Steve! They’ve also got their Labor Day sale going on; LABOR discount code.*****

The guys a lethal are smooth and quick. Want to save on the purchase, order from them! So, hp gain will be about 30 whp, with additional gains in torque of around 65-70 ft lbs at the wheels.

Just order the Bronco Raptor Filter, from K&N it fits correctly. 👍 🇺🇸

FORD calibration tool will upload and save the OEM tune and download the upgraded tune. Switching between the FORD OEM and upgraded performance tune isn’t a feature as I’m aware of.

Won’t be like a typical COBB Tuner, where you can switch with specific toggles on the steering wheel.👍🇺🇸

Performance Upgrade Available for Ranger, Bronco Raptors; Raptor Rally Attendees Get Discount
DEARBORN, MI, August 29, 2024 – Ford engineers have delivered significant low-end torque and horsepower improvements to the 3.0-liter EcoBoost® engine in the Ranger Raptor and Bronco Raptor thanks to a new software calibration from Ford Performance Parts.
  • Ranger Raptor: Torque jumps from 430 to 536 lb.-ft., while horsepower increases from 405 to 455
  • Bronco Raptor: Torque increases from 440 to 536 lb.-ft. and horsepower climbs from 418 to 455
The upgrades are available for 2024 Ranger Raptor and 2023 and 2024 Bronco Raptors and allow for improved throttle response and an optimized shift schedule, resulting in a more powerful driving experience. The MSRP is listed at  $825 and can be purchased using Ford Pass Rewards points.

Anyone who registers their vehicle and attends Raptor Rally, an exclusive one-day event near the Ford Performance Racing School in Fairfield, Utah, on Sept. 21, will receive a 20% off coupon good for the calibration tool and other eligible accessories at performanceparts.ford.com. Terms and conditions apply.

Raptor Rally costs $500, which includes the vehicle, the owner, and one guest for a day of off-road drive experiences, trail rides, expert workshops, meet and greets with pro off-road racers, hot lap opportunities, Ford news, exclusive giveaways, meals, and more. Register at http://www.fordraptorrally.com .

The calibration can be purchased online (Bronco Raptor Calibration, Ranger Raptor Calibration) to be installed at a local dealer. These calibrations meet Ford durability standards and are covered by the vehicle’s three-year, 36,000-mile Ford Performance parts warranty.

great to see Ford release this! Shows some confidence in the OEM powertrain. Another poster mentioned not “needing” this for a daily commute. No one needs it, but once you feel that extra low end grunt you will ”need” it.
having owned several different vehicles with various power adders I am impressed at the added torque at low rpm for a turbocharged engine. HP is simply a math equation - torque is what moves the vehicle and is what you feel in the seat of the pants. Trust me, 100ft/lbs of added torque is a LOT.
My Question is for those of us that purchased the Ford extended warranty and plan to keep their truck - will the tune void part of the extended warranty?

Geez, been thinking about this since reading it earlier. You guys realize this is ~ 12% gain in HP and ~ 25% gain in torque! That is insane. I have loaded bike maps to pick up minimal HP/torque gains just to improve throttle response. Is my math off?! Those are insane gains!

I really hope you guys post your real-world impressions after you load this new map. I have to think it is going to be a very big difference in everything with those numbers.

@Blue Ridge Raptor You are so right. That is gobs of torque improvement. You will DEFINITELY feel the difference. I have the same question about the extended warranty (which I purchased). I plan to double check with my local dealer. If they will still honor it, this is a no-brainer...

Just called Ford Performance and they said what I was told was a bunch of bologna. That a few years ago all dealerships became Ford Performance certified and that they can order it through their FAD system. Also told me that if the dealership is being a PITA about it, that we can order from a third party like CJ Pony Parts and that it would even be below MSRP that way, then take it to any ASE certified technician and they could install it and keep the warranty because part of the installation instructions are to register the calibration via email to ford with certification number. May just go that route and save the headache and some coin, too.
I can confirm this. When I purchased the Ford tune for my 2023 Ranger, the instructions said any ASE certified mechanic can install it. Ironically, I had Livernois Motorsports do the install. 😉

Can you use the calibration tool Procal 4. To remove the tune and put it back to OEM if you ever had issue that needed to be covered under warranty?

From what people in the thread are saying the extended warranty would only apply if you got tuned before delivery. Obviously we are less then 24 hours old, so final confirmation on things needs to occur.

Good on ya, mate; It says USA/Canada but you can always tap one of us to assist state side, just PM. Shipping isn’t that much to Australia and should (optimal word) be compatible with the Australian OEM tuning.

That being said, I’m also looking forward to the, “Optimized Shift Schedule.”👍🇺🇸

I don’t think so as it is paid warranty extension, not something FORD includes with the truck. They’d have to reimburse the owner for the warranty, as I’ve done many times when selling different cars. I’ll find out soon enough though.👍🇺🇸
