Just curious about the reliability on the RR. I know it’s a new truck but it has been in Australia since 22’ if I remember correctly. My understanding is cam phasers are the only known problem? How many miles could you expect this to run?
I'm almost 14K in on my 24 (Delivery end of June). I've changed the oil 3 or 4 times so far and that is about it. Hopefully I can get 5 years out of it before I retire it to weekend Home Depot runs.
7k miles, spot on fender that had paintless dent repair and clear coat not reapplied prior to me picking up. Truck had 60-100 engine hours upon arrival, no idea why.
Air intake nozzle wasn’t bolted to anything and was just freeballing it. The engine heat has fused it together so I don’t think it’s an issue.
Windshield has uneven distortion.
Climate control screen shows rear air vents when you turn on defrost.
Sometimes my struts make muted sounds after start up and moving.
I had a bunch of fit and finish issues like many others with early builds. Ford took care of everything except several spots of surface rust on the frame from the factory. Parts weren't readily available, so it took multiple trips to the dealer and them having my truck for nearly a month in total. Ford compensated me with a premium extended service plan, 5yr 75k for my troubles.
10k miles and the drivetrain has been solid. Have had the ProCal tune for 5k miles.
Only 500 miles on it as I just got it last week, but so far so good. Still in the process of first 1k wear-in trying to hit different engine rpm ranges throughout driving and keeping engine load low. Been doing back-roads or 55 mph country highway mostly where speed varies frequently due to traffic and stop signs of all the cross-roads. Some short highway trips too.
I avoided going over 4k rpm for first 500 miles, now up to short bursts of lightish throttle up to 5k. Just trying to follow the guidelines in the manual about first 1k break-in:
BREAKING-IN
You need to break in new tires for
approximately 300 mi (480 km). During
this time, your vehicle may exhibit some
unusual driving characteristics.
Avoid driving too fast during the first
1,000 mi (1,600 km). Vary your speed
frequently and change up through the
gears early. Do not labor the engine.
Do not tow during the first 1,000 mi
(1,600 km).
Fit and finish is good, but I honestly haven't look at the build date. My sister in-law works for Ford in Dearborn, said she probably put in the left taillight. Running joke is, if the taillight goes out, I'm blaming her!
Love the truck though and don't think I could have done better for an all-around off-road truck than the Ranger Raptor. I'm hooked!
