I just took delivery of my 2.7 XLT Ford Ranger and the headlights appear to be working pretty good.

I was surprised to notice that when turning there is 'additional lighting' in the direction you are turning the wheel.

I never had a vehicle that has done this.

That said, the XLT LED reflectors seem to work pretty well.

Of course it does make me wonder about the Lariat's LED projectors to see how much better they are.

They really good. Not sure in the XLT does it but my Lariat does a "leveling test" when I start it up. The headlights move up, down and side to side to make sure they are level.

it is the fog lights, at lower speeds they act as "cornering lights" turn left at slow speed, even with highbeams on, the left fog light will come on when wheel gets turned so far. and off when back to center, or you get fast enough.

Unless there is a difference between the XL / XLT and Lariat / Raptor lights (specifically for this cornering light, I know the Lariat and Raptor have LED and the XL and XLT are halogen), it is not the fog lights. There is a sperate smaller light in the headlight assembly that lights up when the wheel is turned in each direction. Have someone sit in your truck while you stand by one of the lights and have them turn the wheel to see the little lamp light up.

Exactly, on the Raptor it is an additional light for the cornering light and not the fog light that comes on.

My 2025 xlt in canada came with led reflectors headlights, not halogens and the led fog lights are "cornering lights" when the fogs are off, or off because highbeams are on.

Correct about the lariat and raptor having led projector headlights, but wrong about the XL and XLT having halogens; they have led reflector headlights. The raptors and lariats have a separate low-speed cornering light, but I'm surprised to hear that the XL and XLT use the fog lights for the same purpose. If that works well why bother with the separate cornering light for the led projector-equipped rangers?

My XLT (US) also has the cornering light, but it doesn't have that separate light. Must be the fog light, but I will take a look and confirm. Its a nice feature. Mine works better turning left than right though.

So then the cornering light difference is in fact a vehicle trim level difference, not a country / region difference. Interesting.

In my XLT I have only noticed it while driving, so I could not see which light is used.

I was just surprised when this feature activated.

It seems strange that models use different lights for the same purpose, but who knows!

At least my fog lights are getting used!

I didn't know about that either. One day I got out of the truck with the wheel turned to the right. When I walked in the front, I saw only one fog light on, and immediately thought "Damn It! A 2-month-old truck and already a bad fog lamp!" Then I found out about cornering lights.

Another feature is the Auto high/low beams. I turned that off because it was annoying when it switches high to low at every streetlight.
