So, I just received my new Ranger. It sit's a little higher them my 4G. When I drive it under my under ground gate the antenna
hit's the board defining the 6'6" max height. Will the antenna put up with this abuse, The board is hung on a chain. Will this dent my roof.
I know you can get a stubby antenna. I guess i am not lifting the truck.

I wouldn’t be super worried about denting the roof. But even if the sign is flimsy, many hits over time could damage the coax connection for the antenna.

I replaced my factory 7” XLT antenna for a 4” CravenSpeed stubby. I didn’t notice any difference in reception quality after the switch, but I live in England which is pretty flat.

Built Right makes a little stubby antenna...a bit pricey around $40 or so but high quality and I have not heard anyone having compromised reception.

I feel the Stubby gave me better reception. I say go for it to eliminate any potential issues

I was going to buy it off Amazon.ca. Hard to know what quality it is.
I see CravenSpeed Stubby is sold in Oregon close to me since I am waiting for a shipment
delivered to the Boarder. Funny that's all they sell.

Its currently not on the Canadian Amazon.site. I will probably just ordered it from the company in Oregon. Will be picking up some Rock Sliders from the boarder soon.

I put the 4" Cravenspeed stubby on my truck as well from day 1. Looks better. No drop or change in reception. Easy $20.
