Greetings from Finland!

Traded in my 2017 V6 Amarok, and got this hybrid Ranger 2 weeks ago. Loving it!

Maxliner Venture canopy, some ditch lights, extra reverse lights and tailgate lettering. Would like to add molle panels to canopy side windows, to attach stuff like fire extinguisher, folded shovel etc.

Truck came with Continental CrossContacts in 255/65R18, switched those to Brisgestone Blizzak DM-V3 275/65R18 and trying to sell the Continentals. For next summer I have 17" Raptor wheels waiting for some AT rubber.

Some pics.

It is a detuned 2.3 Ecoboost that we have in North America.

Yeah, it's the new dual injected 2.3 ecoboost, detuned but with the electric motor gives out combined 281 bhp and 514 lb-ft. Maybe it would have been too close to Raptor numbers without the detune.

27 miles full-EV range, but in real world conditions 20 miles seems about the max.

I can go to town for groceries etc in EV mode, anything further and it's just a bit more economical hybrid. It gets tax breaks as our car taxes are co2 emission based, and the Pro Power Onboard was also a big plus. 6.9 kW output and ~12 kWh capacity is great for camping out. I also fly drones in my job so don't need a hulking power bank with me for charging capacity.

Got the rangerlifts level kit, but the Wildtrak offroad suspension is 'close enough', so I'll probably just sell the level kit. 285/70R17 should fit, clearing the UCA is the only problem. Might need something like 20mm spacers with the OEM Raptor wheels.

Not liking the silver roof rails, as there is practically nothing silver anymore after taking out the bed side rails for the Maxliner canopy. Might have to paint them to match.

Ford needs to get their head right and understand there is a strong market in the US for Hybrid and PHEV trucks not covered by the smaller Maverick or larger F-150. If/when Ford says Ranger is going to be offered as either Hybrid or PHEV I'm trading in my '24 Lariat and buying one. Unfortunately, Ford is being very stubborn about this (stupidly IMO) and saying if you want a hybrid truck buy a Maverick (smaller than I want) or and F-150 (larger than I want). I think they are going to miss the boat on this one when Toyota/Nissan/GM jumps the line and does just this.

Considerably. Amarok 3.0 V6 diesel, tuned to roughly similar numbers as the Ranger, did around 22.5 mpg. Ranger is now sitting at 33 mpg.

Hybrids of course are highly usage dependand on their fuel economy numbers.

That's a good looking truck. I do wish the Wildtrak was available in North America.

First 500 miles:

Total miles: 536
Ev drive miles: 213
MPG: 35.6
Miles/kWh: 2.55
Avarage speed: 25 mph

Very decent consumption, a few longer trips, otherwise short local trips. Ev power consumption is very high compared to full-EVs, but that is to be expected as the power goes through the gearbox and mechanical powertrain. Also it's getting cold and heating eats its share.

For a brand new vehicle, in falling temps and despite the Imp. gallons (from a US perspective), that is extraordinary performance. Why, oh why, do we not get this truck here? One might have thought that the smaller Maverick Hybrid would have been more suited to Europe whereas the larger Ranger of more interest in the US. Of course the answer is that they obviously are scared crap-less that a hybrid Ranger would cannibalize a noticeable percentage of F150 sales. Can't risk killing that best selling pickup umpteen million years running thing.

Very cool, and impressive numbers. Meanwhile, I just want the Ranger Super Duty in the NA market. :D

I think Ford is missing out on both sides of the coin. There is a market for mid-size hybrid, and there is one for mid-size heavy duty trucks. Like others have said, they don't want to take from the F-150 sales.

Numbers are in freedom units. We use litres per 100 kilometers here, so had to convert anyway.
