I paid $2,500 over MSRP for a 2025 Ranger Raptor I ordered, did I pay too much?

I just ordered a 2025 Ranger Raptor from a dealer here in the Boise area. Some dealers initially asked for $10K over MSRP, most wanted $5K over. I ended up paying $2,500. What are others paying?

Was there a deposit and is it refundable? If yes. Keep a eye out for MSRP while waiting. Might have to travel a little to get it.

As mentioned, the only one who can determine that is you. Regardless lots of folks have paid MSRP rather easily and another large amount of folks have paid 2.5k to 5k over. Everyone agrees 10k over is ridiculous though.

Even at $2,500 over you're still saving $2,500 over a TURD Pro! I'm seeing those discounted several thousand off MSRP, I think Toyota missed the mark on how loyal Tacoma owners will be.

Who cares. Pay what you want to pay and drive the F out of it. I paid what I felt was comfortable for my checkbook back in March. I've put 6500 miles on it since delivery in June and I've only seen 3 others on the road in that time and one of them had southern plates on it (I live in New England). Nobody has a clue what it is and I have plenty of people asking if I'm at a gas station or getting into the truck at a store. Now I see that 2025 eliminated the red, so I have a 1 off color for 24 and no red option for 25.

In the scope of things, $2,500 isn't the end of the world for me personally. There are dealers out here in CA still trying to get $10k+ over on a 2024. Some areas have plentiful MSRP deals, other areas like mine, it's like finding a needle in a haystack. I should be picking up my 24 RR on Saturday at MSRP, but in all fairness, I have been hunting for one since June. Just yesterday, I saw a similar RR pop up locally. I'm like, look I have a RR coming in during the next few days to a non-local dealer, but yours is the same config with the bedliner. Give me the same deal, and I'll buy your truck. They came back at $10k over anyways. In the scope of things, I probably would have been ahead if I just paid the $2,500-$3,500 over deals I was able to negotiate down 2-3 months back. I've spent a LOT of time doing the back and forth, plus the waiting game, and getting 19 trade estimates. lol. If you're happy, then who cares what other people think? $2,500 to some is crazy money, $2,500 to others stings a bit, but you forget about it by day two, and for some, $2,500 isn't much.

As others said, it depends on you. I could have waited on my order (never pulled) or hoped one in a color I wanted showed up at my local dealers for MSRP, but instead I found one close by and paid roughly what you're being asked over msrp to get it that day. I wanted it and didn't want to wait any longer, so I pulled the trigger.

In your case, you may want to consider the ADM the price of not having to fly out of ID to get one and then use up some vacation days to drive it home. Considering the price of air travel, hotels, and gas, it'd be about a wash. Only negative, you're paying extra taxes on the ADM, but in the grand scheme of things it's best to consider it a convenience fee. Some people are okay with it, others no, and both are acceptable answers here even if we all agree ADM is pretty shitty. Only you can decide if that works for you.

Your choice entirely, don't worry about it. I paid $1500 over MSRP, plus a total of $300 in fees, NO dealer add ons, and I got a free Ford ball cap, , but I had to fly half way across the country at short notice and drive it home from a tiny town dealer in SD. The flight was a PITA but I loved the drive back by backroads. I paid a deposit and the dealer kept his word and declined another offer of +$5000, which was nice.

My local Ford dealer has a new Cactus Grey RR sitting on the lot, listed for $5000 over, I am not stressing about my purchase. It is a terrific trucklet!

yeah, when you just don't care, you pay more than the rest of the public. Just like some that bought them here in Vegas for 5k and 10k over.

I don't think it's not always that you don't care. Everything we buy has an aspect of value, so if the truck is more valuable to you, then you make a decision. If your time is more valuable than saving some money, then you make that decision. Some people are lucky that they don't need to deal with this crap. In my case and I'll be completely honest, I saw the truck I have a deposit on show up on the Ford inventory tracker. It wasn't built yet, but was optioned mostly how I'd want it. When I reached out to them, I actually offered them $1,500 over, which was less than average ADM around here. They responded to me that they wouldn't accept my offer because they don't put ADM on any vehicle, including Raptor R's. So even though I made the offer at $1,500 over and they could have happily said yes, they said no, and took me back to MSRP. I will say, that is by far and away, not the response I got from other California dealers. However, once I got that MSRP deal, emailing back other dealers who were sticking to their $5k over ADM resulted in three other dealers, who I had contacted, suddenly saying they could match the deal @ MSRP. It's a game, but not one I enjoy playing. So, in the end, I'm getting an MSRP deal, but I would have bought with ADM of some sort. Like I said above, I would have been ahead at this point if I didn't keep pounding the pavement in my eyes.

$2,500 over MSRP isn't crazy in MY area (So CA) as they are asking $5k to $10K over.....I paid $2,000 over MSRP for mine but I also had a trade-in and the dealer gave me $1k more then CarMax so I was happy with the deal.....and no flying out somewhere unknown and no having to worrying about how I would sell my existing Ranger.....even in South Orange County I have not seen another one in person YET so people tell me how cool it looks all the time......and it happened to be at dealership that I previously bought my last Ranger Tremor from so it was easier to work the deal......and the truck has every option on it and is exactly the way I wanted it......I would do it all over again in a heartbeat!!........just wish the damn Ford Performance Tune was available here in CA!!!.....

Hello! Would you mind sharing which dealer assisted with your purchase? They sound like a great dealer to work with. I'm looking to place an order for MY25 RR.
