What does the inside of the OEM RR resonators look like?

It's just perforated holes in the pipe. I have not cut one open to see if there is any packing in there. I might cut one open to see.

There actually looks to be enough room that you can put those resonators in their sides and put bed steps on a ranger raptor

Yea looks like there is room in there.
I was thinking the bulged raptor fenders were not compatible with the bed steps.
Has anyone been able to fit those steps on a Raptor?
I always thought those looked like they would be pretty handy to have.

The "resonator" term is lost with me. Plenty of mufflers with a perforated pipe wrapped with fiberglass--aka glass packs. Still a muffler though. Had been suspecting a resonator was just an empty expansion space along an exhaust pipe.

True, but generally speaking a muffler is designed to reduce or quiet the entire range of sound, where a resonator intends to only tune out harsh frequencies.
There are glass pack mufflers and there are chambered resonators.... Construction doesn't define purpose.

Found this one in black.
It's really close in size.

Price looks almost too good to be true.

Bear in mind, Vibrant has many sizes, but only the one was labeled super quiet. Since @Crapblaster had tried it and liked the tone, I went with it.
I've read many discussions about replacing resonators and various exhaust mods, and the Vibrant is the only one that had the results I wanted. Most people said the tone got worse, or droned etc.

Thought about that.

Also thought I might try one of each type to see if I could tell any difference.

I went ahead and order the two black ones I had found.

I am thinking if they fit and sound great I may order another set, or if I find them still a little lacking in some reguard follow up with one of the Vibrant sets paint them and put them on one of my other RRs. Then I could compar the two.

Resonators and tips came in today.
Have a 9:30 apt at my buddies muffler shop for 9:30 am Monday .
Fingers crossed it all fits and can be routed like I am wanting,

Interested to hear how much of a difference there is from stock to these, considering they are less volume and much less expensive than the others posted here.

They are physically larger than the OEM resonators, so I am expecting a little quieter.
I am hopeful for the deeper tone as advertised as well as a little quieter.

I am little tight on space to get them mounted where I wanted them, tucked and hidden inside the back fenders, so I am probably going to be glad they are little, smaller than the others seen in this thread.

I will post up some pictures and sound clips next week if it all goes to plan.

If it is not really much quieter and there looks to be room for those larger one, I may go try those and the high temp paint on set for my 25 model, the white one with the topper on it.
