This isn't a race truck.
...and from a day to day perspective, IMO, its all the better for it. Love the hell out of mine, but that love is based on what a great blend of fun and practicality it provides. The closest my truck will get to racing is likely a trip down to Kentucky in June to checkout the return of WRC to the US.

I wouldn't say blown away. It's a nice lil truck for sure, but to be blown away, I would need a few things.

1. More HP/TQ (blown coyote making 700+hp/tq would be nice)
2. No speed limiter
3. Bigger exterior difference from the other models (i.e. XL, etc)

I came from a 331 stroked 85 Mustang GT (built to road race) and a tuned 2006 F350...they could both move out pretty good when you put the pedal to the floor. Having said that, the RR is still a good truck. Definitely the right size...just needs a little more to be excellent.

Just my 2 cents.

Lol...I know. After paying $60k for a vehicle, I would like to have the choice to disable it. I've watched our beloved RR get beat at the track due to the speed limiter.

Just hit 25,000 on ours and still love this truck, I do agree that I wish it had a 5.0 coyote version but this truck is still a lot of fun and gets a lot of positive comments

It's ok, but certainly doesn't blow me away.
I'm in a similar boat. I wouldn't got as far to say that I regret the purchase, but after spending a few months with it, there are some items that give me a bit of the "meh" factor.

I am sincerely disappointed in the interior quality - specifically the seats. I'm a middle of the bell curve kind of guy, and the seats looked like they had 70k miles on them when I had less than a thousand miles. They seem to be getting progressively worse with wrinkles and creases. One of my Toyotas with creeping on 140k miles looks leaps and bounds better. Ford tells me it's normal.

Simple features that are absent still don't make sense to me. Pick your list, but I think we can all agree that no rear HVAC is absurd.

I'm a firm believer that service sells equipment. Service being the overall umbrella: actual service on the vehicle, customer service in a general sense, etc. Dealer (and I've been to multiple) and corp alike really just do not give a damn. I'm an extremely easy person to work with, but I've had some off the wall experiences with this truck (won't go into here, but feel free to look around), and the response and communication has honestly been atrocious.

Despite it being "just a Ranger", I still think this is considered a flagship type vehicle holding the Raptor name. It's a shame that there was seemingly quite a push to make cuts to make this a budget minded vehicle. Maybe I'm the minority here, because whenever I bring it up I'm told that I should have gotten the F-150 Raptor. I don't want an F-150 Raptor. I want to want one, but I've driven half a dozen and just don't like the overall size.

Now, all told... This is a rad truck. It has got the bones with some real trick stuff. It does a fantastic job both on and off road. It is a ton of fun and really just this perfect all around vehicle for a multitude of reasons. If it came down to cost, I would have spent a couple grand more to address some of the quality issues.

It looks like an awesome truck and is a solid value for what you get and I really wanted to like it, but after a test drive of three Ranger variants (2.3 2wd, 2.7 4wd, and RR), the RR just felt lethargic. Sure, lots of torque and acceleration, but the handling made you feel every bit of the extra 1,200 lbs it has over the base truck. At 160/6' I felt the seats were too wide as well. So, sadly, the RR just didn't wow me and I bought the 2.3 2wd XLT.
Pretty much the same for me, I got a 2.3 FX4 XLT.

Coming from 2 F150 Raptors, a Ranger lariat and a 2020 Roush Ranger…The Ranger Raptor is the perfect combination for me, imho.😄

I actually told the dealer years ago, I want first dibs when Ford decide to bring it to the USA. lol

Fast forward 5 years later…I traded my Mustang GT for it.
I must say, the Ranger Raptor has a lot of pep, esp with the FP tune.👍

I can't say I'm blown away by the Raptor. I have an awful lot of respect for the Raptor, but what I'm really impressed by (still short of blown away) is the entirety of the Ranger lineup. I've said before that there's something in the Ranger lineup for everyone who wants or needs a midsize pickup truck. The base XL without options is actually a really nice work truck. The lariat can be reasonably well-appointed while still maintaining the XL's towing ability and most of its' payload. The XLT lands in between. But if towing and hauling aren't so much your thing as going fast off-road, well the Raptor's for you. It's a great lineup, and picking one that's right for you doesn't in any way detract from the greatness of the others in the lineup. The fact that I bought a lariat doesn't mean I don't like the raptor, or couldn't afford it, but rather just that I prioritize towing and hauling and day-to-day utility over the off-road capability of the raptor.

I didn’t know what an RR was when I bought my XL 4x4 STX, but I love my truck and can’t imagine 40k more would change my mind.

The Ranger murders the competition at the bottom end of the range. Being able to get a $420 locker on a basic-ass XL 4x4 was a game changer for me. And now you can get an XL FX4 for 2026. Now go see how much it costs to get a locker and simple off-road package on a Taco, Colorado, or Frontier.
