Its not even a FORD only issue. Other brands are struggling with the same thing
I don't know many people who have other brands of vehicles with the stop/start function. I'm sure Chevy/GMC, Dodge, Toyota all have issues as well. I believe with all of the electric control modules the engineers would have taken that into account. The Noco charger I purchased is to be mounted on the vehicle. I'm trying to figure out a place to mount it out of the way and reach the plug in easily. I've looked a little. There's only so much sh*t a person can pack in there. I'd like to mount my Auxbeam switch panel under the hood as well but space is an issue.

I have recently had this same issue. The power saving mode comes on and Ford pass remote is useless. I have had my system checked twice in the last month. I was advised that short trips in town do not give the alternator enough time to charge the battery. The also advised a battery maintainer. I believe this is design flaw. I should not need to charge the battery when that is the alternators purpose. This is not isolated to the Ranger. There was a gentleman at the dealership while I was there that had the EXACT same issue on a F150.
Unfortunately, that is the consequence of all the tech that is now in these vehicles. We've gone from a time where when the engine was off, all the battery had to do was keep the clock, your radio settings, and a few ECU settings and configurations saved. Now there are a bunch of computer modules all over and telematics always active. So besides the engine, the truck is basically never "off" unless it's been sitting for at least 14 days straight then it goes into a deep sleep mode to protect the battery.

I can't imagine how many things are drawing voltage now.

If the dealer told me to start plugging my battery in every night I will get a different truck.

Is it the NOCO 2D? If so I can give you a step by step, I put one on my 2025 XLT as soon as I brought her home.

Yes sir! That's exactly what I bought. I just need to look deeper into where I can mount it. Any suggestions?

Yes, I put mine down along the radiator support by the left headlight. There is a fat wire harness down there you can zip tie it to. That puts it at the right level so the cord can stick out at the tow hook about 6" and there is just enough charge cable to neatly reach the battery. When not in use the cord rests nicely in the tow hook. (I covered it in 3/8" plastic corrugated conduit) I connected the negative to an unpainted bolt right in front of the battery, you don't want it on the battery post as it will bypass your BMS.

It's tight working in there especially if you have big hands. Remove the skid plate for better access.

I put a little piece of foam padding on the bottom of it before I zipped it to that harness facing upwards. It's hard to see but when you look down there you can see the red and green lights when it's plugged in.

Thank you very much! I was trying to put the put plug in up higher and the shutters for the radiator wouldn't let me. I like the way you mounted yours. That looks clean and neat! I'll get that installed this coming weekend. Thanks again!

Optima yellow top battery is a long term solution. My wife's Lincoln started to have issues a couple years ago. Happened to discuss with a GOOD local stereo store...changed to an optima battery, meant to handle the electronics, etc...and no more problem. Standard batteries can't handle the constant drain and start to fail...but will pass tests

Thanks for that infor. I just checked Optima yellow top battery for a 2024 Ranger and here's what came up. Did you pay that much for the Optima yellow top battery?

Thanks in advance

Yep....they are pricey. +3 years on the optimal in the Lincoln and still holding. Prior to the switch, vehicle was just under 2 years old and kept shutting down functions overnight, and eventually had to use the manual key to open the car

Yep - had very similar problems on my previous ‘19 F-150 Platinum. An Optima yellow top was a game changer - spendy! But a game changer.
At less than 4K miles on my RR it might already be an upgrade sooner than later. I’d rather spend the $400 bucks than plug it in every night.

The price of an OEM battery is
$229.95 🤷 what's a little more?

@Big D replied on this post and stated the problem isn't brand specific. So, given the fact that all new vehicles have a plethora of modules etc that will draw power when the engine is off it stands to reason.
