I'm looking for a solution to tie down a tent on top of my hard tonneau cover. Ideally it would be possible to run a couple of straps between stake pockets, but I can't find the right solution for the Ranger's stake pockets.

Ford makes something that looks perfect for the F-150: https://accessories.ford.com/retractable-flush-mount-black-stake-pocket-tie-downs-2pc-set-1

However the Ranger's stake pockets are different and have two holes in them (pic attached).

Has anyone found a solution cleaner than some eye bolts from the hardware store?

Would any of these work? If not, maybe you could contact them to see if they have any fitment solutions.
Ford Tie-Down Anchors - BullRing USA

Otherwise, maybe there is a solution from the Australian aftermarket product sector you could research.
Hopefully someone else has something they have seen.

I think the Ford accessories product is a rebranded Bullring (or at least, they look identical). It looks like the perfect solution - good idea to email them.

I was looking at something like this. I have a friend with a machine shop and might see if he can make these as a single piece, but I'm planning to use it to attach an extruded aluminum crossbar setup.

That looks like a good solution. I saw your thread where there was mention of aluminum spacer blocks.

Maybe a U-bolt with the appropriate shims and nuts on either side will do the trick, but it probably won't look very good.

I installed a couple of temporary 4x4 wood posts on top of my bed rails. I needed a way to transport my rooftop tent which is for sale. I just drilled through the wood at each stake pocket cavity, using the front holes which are round (a couple of the pocket rear holes are oval). The wood was not perfectly flat, so I added 1/8” hard rubber pads at each bolt. I used 1/2”x6” galvanized carriage bolts and large area washers underneath the rail.

It looks amazingly dorky, but I worked well, and now I can transport the tent to a buyer’s home if needed. I sold the Land Cruiser 200 that it was last mounted on, in order to pay for the Raptor.

I reached out to BullRing and they do not have any Ranger stake tie downs in the works, but they did kindly offer to borrow my truck for two weeks for R&D 😂.

I ended up solving my problem with about $8 in hardware.

Bet the Bullring would have cost you 10 times as much. :)

I need something like the Bull Ring ones badly. Even if it was just a flip up D-ring and not the full pop up. I cannot believe there are no solutions out there.

Nice job, looks great!
Just the info I was looking for, appreciate the posting.
And fits with what looks like the tonneau cover by Ford/Leer.
