why heavy, the entire front spindle is cast iron/or steel, IDK. yep, really. Also the steering is not speed sensing, it's just barely boosted to save on gas. Also, speed sensitive steering works the opposite way. If you prefer the Nissan ( I actually owned one ) there is a forum for you. Why waste time here?
I don't consider it a waste of time as occaisonally I see something interesting here or a topic I have direct relevant experience to share, like this one about lack of SCab + 6' bed offerering bonehead move by Ford making people look for alternatives. Also, I'm retired and have lots of time on my hands- not that my reasons for being here are any of your business, or concern.

Here's what Nissan's 2024 Spec sheet shows for steering on Frontier. Maybe you can learn something here too...

Sheesh, while quick to insult him, you completely missed the point- speed-sensitive steering provides more boost at low speeds.

I think you can get that configuration in a Tacoma or Frontier.
You can in both trucks.

I found it interesting that in their new generation Tacoma, Toyota is included the SC.

AND made a real effort to configure the space behind the seats for tradesmen. They are in business to make money and have market research folks also.

So they made a decision to keep a niche market and Ford abandoned it…reminds of 2012 when Ford terminated the Ranger. “ If they want a small truck they can buy a short bed RC F150.” Then they were all amazed when Chevy introduced the new Colorado-and people bought it!

BTW, two of the first three new gen Tacomas I saw were stripper fleet white two door models…

Do wish Ford or GM would listen and offer a SuperCab 6-foot bed (Extended Cab for GM twins)

I was all ready to buy a 2024 to replace a '17 Colorado but just can not bring myself to live with a non-Pickup CrewCab Only 5-foot bed.

That extra foot of cargo space makes a huge difference. For example a bicycle can actually ride in the bed without removing parts. Plus smaller heavy loads can be carried in front of the rear axle.

So I've decided to start the near 100K miles big ticket services on my '17 . . . all fluids, tires, plugs, etc several thousands of dollars . . . maybe in late 2025 or 2026 I can again dream of a new truck but I'm not hopeful.

Ford or GM, I do not care, first one with a '25+ SuperCab will be getting my money. An an XLT 4x4 trim level is all I need.

Gosh, I'd even consider a 90's style/size SWB regular cab . . . . . I owed 3 between '72 and '90 . . . .
BYE! ✋??

Methinks I see why Ford doesn’t offer an SC with a 6’ bed!!
It would increase torsional stress and they’d have to reduce the load limit of the bedrails to oh- I dunno- maybe 30 lbs!
Why if 300 lb Tiny Jim on the framing crew leaned on one it would collapse!

I was hoping Ford would bring out the Scab. Being single I have no use for the extra seats and feel a 5' bed is impractical. They offer less option in Canada. Cannot get a 2WD. Screw Ranger
I was amazed what they offered in the US in a 5G Scab Lariat FX4.
You would think there would still be a strong fleet market for the Scab.
I checked out the new Frontier, it only comes in the lower S and ST. Does not come in Pro 4X.
Not sure if you can get it in 2WD. This example in my area. Disappointed I cannot get a FX4 6G Scab Ranger.

Ford isn't going to build a super cab 2WD for you and the other 2 people in Canada that want one.
Not going to happen.

While positions can be taken that CARB is impacting our choices or that Truck Lot Sale Trends loop back to the product planners. For myself the Big-3 are just ignoring what many customers actually want and using CARB and lot sales as questionable reasons. It is easier to "market" big CARB loophole trucks as must have second family vehicles then it is to do the research/development to produce vehicles actually wanted . . . instead of making profits by providing what many, many customers want the Big-3 are happy saying "take it or leave it".

So we customers only have one real choice Not To Purchase and keep our older vehicles longer.

There is a real market, customer base, for Extended/Super Cab pickup configurations that is being ignored.

Today I screenshot and counted every Pickup from 7-minutes of dash-cam recordings.

58 Total vehicles,
29% to 38% Extended/Super Cabs (depending on how you classify GM DoubleCab)

And only of few of these SuperCab were work-truck fleet-vehicles.
No greater number than in the CrewCab or Regular cab models

I have a one wheeler 4G Ranger Scab , 2.3L manual I keep running. Very basic XL, roll up windows.

Looking at the Frontier. Seems to be better then the 5G. Kinda like they are still some what basic vehicles. Not the best gas mileage. Could be a longer term vehicle.

I would buy a 6G SCab FX4 XLT if they made them.

Surprised this Nissan Frontier PRO-4X King cab is sold in Canada. A three wheeler with locking dif.
Not hugely off road capable but if you have the skills you can do mild off roading. Will keep an eye on it asking a high price at around 50K Cnd. Let it sit on the lot. Hoping like the Big Three Manufacture think that no one wants one.

Cool Dude
I owned both, 5G FX2 SCAB and Frontier SCAB. Nissan was primative compared to the 5G, Steel or cast iron Steering knuckles. Stamped steel control arms. Interior switches in a checker board to the lower left of the steering wheel, in kind of random order, depening on options. Old sytle gauges. The SCAB 2x4 weighs as much as my DoubleCab 4x4, 300 lbs more wieght that a like Ranger. Good strong N/A motor. Trans is Good. ZF model i think? Had no problems with mine- Bulky though. 5G was zippy and much lighter, and more refined, and 6G is much better that the 5G was. and that was a fine truck. One mans opinion. Take a long test drive.
