I ordered a Lariat Maverick Tremor. It’s supposed to go into production at the end of this month, but I keep thinking about the Ranger. Do you think the MY24 Ranger Lariat would be around $40k? Any idea of when the order guides would come out (or anything leaked)?

I had to go check now. The current Ranger Lariat starts at $35K in build & price. But if you want 4x4 or crew cab you’re $40K now. So there’s a possibility of a $40K Lariat in the new one, but I’m assuming that’d be the absolute base price. One of the other threads said orders open April 17th, if there’s any truth to that you might have another month to wait to find out yet.

With price hikes all over the industry, I'd be surprised if a loaded lariat was anything less than $45k

Forgot to mention that I would be using X-Plan. So maybe it would bring it lower. $40k is my cap that I’m willing to spend for another vehicle.

The waiting is maddening, but it costs you nothing to let the Maverick and 6G situations play out in parallel. I can tell you from personal experience Maverick timelines get pushed out more often than not. Hopefully there will be reasonable clarity on 6G for all of us by end of March.

I'm in somewhat the same boat - but I'll be taking delivery of the Maverick no matter what. Really hoping the Ranger comes out this year with a hybrid or PHEV variant.

According to this article they expect the Ranger hybrid out in 2025. I tend to agree with this timeline seeing as production starts later this year and it'll give them another whole year for regular ICE sales while also another year of testing the hybrid model.

https://fordauthority.com/2022/09/ford-ranger-hybrid-expected-to-join-lineup-in-2025/

Now, Automotive News is reporting that this new Ford Ranger hybrid model – likely a plug-in hybrid, to be precise – is expected to join the lineup in 2025.
Given the fact that a Ranger PHEV has been rumored for years, this doesn’t come as a huge surprise, but it does provide us with a clear picture of when we can expect this electrified pickup to launch, at least. However, it may not be the only hybrid model in the Ranger lineup, as the Ranger Raptor may also get an electrified powertrain option at some point in the future, as Ford Authorityreported back in April.

Aside from a hybrid model, the new Ranger is also expected to get an all-electric variant, too. Additionally, an extended wheelbase option appears to be in the cards after Ford Authority spies spotted a long-bed Ranger SuperCrew prototype testing in the U.S. back in June.

Supposedly the order guides come out for the 2024 Ranger on April 17th. I don't know what the pricing will be on the new ones (higher most likely), but my 2023 Ranger Lariat FX4 Jungle Splash was $45,700 without delivery. I test drove both the Maverick and the Ranger and ultimately decided on the Ranger; after test driving the Maverick I honestly didn't understand all of the hype. It's built on the Bronco Sport/Maverick unibody versus the Ranger/Bronco body on frame; I've never been sold on unibody construction for off-roading and there's a lot of articles on the physics of off-roading on unibodies. The second thing that sold me on the Ranger was the 7,500 tow capacity with the tow package vs the 4000 lb capability of the Maverick with the 4K tow package. I've heard that the Tremor package does provide a hit to both the fuel economy and tow capacity of the Maverick, but haven't seen any hard data. With the Ranger, I didn't get the feeling that I was sitting on the road. Finally, there was the cab difference, to me the Ranger's cab is organized much more inline with the F 150; the Maverick's cab just felt cramped, disorganized and looked like it had a tablet sprouting out of the center of the dash. Anyway, after experiencing both vehicles, I opted for the Ranger.

There was an FX4 Maverick parked outside my apartment. Too small for me. Very low to the ground for a FX4

If I did not want to pull a travel trailer I would have waited & bought a Maverick.
What do you need, not what you want. Or, whatever.

:stop: Stop trying to be rational! 😜

Heck at this stage of my career I could get by with a Maverick. But the non sensible side of my brain wants this.

there are plenty of smaller travel trailers you can pull with a 4k Tow package equipped Maverick. Here's my mini toy hauler- holds 2 motorcycles or a quad and dry weight is 2000 lbs. Others are towing TAB, Scamp, Base Camp, Mini Winnie, etc. Here's mine...

A hybrid ranger would be really enticing, hopefully we are headed in that direction.

It’s definitely not a high rider and that’s been my challenge with mine. It’s quick and a blast to drive.
To be honest, other than the ride height, it’s a pleasure to own and for what I paid it’s a super value…nevertheless I am still considering the Ranger 😉
