Has anyone else experienced that the phone charger gets your phone so hot it almost melts?

I think a lot do that. My wife complains that plugging in the ohone makes hers hot, too. She just made me touch it yesterday to prove her point

Last several rides had this and they all get hot and basically are junk. I need to tear into it and kill the power so I can toss my work keys in the cubbie.

I don't understand why this can be an issue, it's $10 to buy a decent wireless charger on amazon, how can it be like this??

Have not tried this truck but in my 22 maverick it had a factory sticker said no metal. Just assumed they are all the same ?

In my old 2023 Grand Cherokee Limited, it would not charge the phone if wireless car play was running. My 2024 Ranger Lariat works fine but does get warm if Wireless Car Play is running. No problem if wireless CarPlay is off.

It's not the Ford charger causing the heat issue, it's the inductive charging process. Phone cases make the issue worse as the case adds a stand off between the charger and the inductive coil in the phone.

My iPhone doesn’t heat up, charges just fine. I have it in a case specifically designed for wireless charging / MagSafe.

I installed my own MagSafe charger and avoid the builtin cheap Qi v1 pad that cooked my phone. Case or not, it is a POS charge pad that couldn't charge as fast as my phone used battery while using Carplay.

With my Apple MagSafe charger I can charge and use Airplay for hours and grab my phone and not worry about it burning a hole in my pocket.
