ProCal Tune - do we need to check for updates?

I had mine installed by the dealer so I never logged into the site myself. Are there ever updates that need to be downloaded? I did a search for this and didn't find anything.

How do you like it, worth the $$$? With the discount and points, its looking like $650 installed at the dealership for me. Do you recommend it? Is the extra power noticeable and worth the money in your opinion?

based on the google AI search the answer is yes... i have had mine tuned for 8 months now and haven't ever logged back in and i dont have my procal in the truck, it just sits in my garage but i'm going to look further into this... here is what google says, take it with a grain of salt.

Mine is not in the truck either. I geuss its easy to plug into the laptop and check for updates though.

Since the dealer installed mine, i have no idea where to go or what to do to check but i imagine there is some instructions in the box the procal came in so i will get bored and check someday

I am going to look into this a bit more and if i figure out an easy way to check and update i'll make a video for sure and also report back to this thread.

just got the pro cal tune installed at ford dealer on my 2025 RR.. (non California trk). definitely helps the shifting patterns and more torque and throttle response.. it does take some miles to read all the parameters of fuel/ air, etc. mixtures and adaptive driving style.. really makes the truck more drivable and responsive! and warrantied by ford.. great value..( also installed it on my 22 bronco and same response..

I think the 5G Ranger FP tune is on its 8th or 9th revision?
Basically, the answer is yes.

And all of you that drank the “dealer has to install it” koolaid now have to pay the dealer every time you want the truck flashed with the latest update.
Unless you registered and loaded the tune on your tool yourself before bringing it to the dealer.

And even then, warranty coverage on re-flashing the truck yourself for an update is a gray area…

That’s why I’m a firm believer in doing the whole thing yourself and establishing a good relationship with your dealer service manager for the warranty coverage!

Shop525 just worked in the Ford website for 20% off. $617 after discount and using my points for install. Would normally be $940 including install.

might be worth a conversation/negotiation with the dealer service manager for an installation price that includes any future updates

I wish I would have thought this through more when I bought my 25 RR…..would have been much easier to get the above in that negotiation
