Since the factory intercooler seems to perform pretty poorly, I'd love to compile a list of all the available Intercooler options for the Ranger Raptor.

If we could post where they're available from (preferably within the US), how much $, and what kind of performance they offer, I'll put a list together.

Whether or not the vehicle has to be modified would be good info to include as well.

Thanks!

Cobb:
Modification required? No
23% more efficient
53% larger volume
Cost: $1,025

Process West Stage 1:
Modification required? Yes
Increase in volume/efficiency: ?? (claimed to be the largest option on the market that doesn't require modification)
Cost: $1,170

Process West Stage 2:
Modification required? Yes
Increase in volume/efficiency: ??( Claimed to be the largest available on the market for the next gen Ranger Raptor)
Cost: $1,495

Wagner:
Modification required? Very slight
69% Increase in volume
Cost: $690

Dynomotive:
Modification required? Unclear
87.5% larger core. 80% larger end tanks.
Cost: $1,950

ZFG is just a Wagner unit, should probably clarify.

I still need to bother Whipple and see if the Bronco IC fits, and if they are just holding off for CARB.

Noted. I was confused because the only listing on Wagner's own site currently are for the 2.3L Bronco & Ranger.

Thanks!

Having played with turbo cars for twenty years now, there's always a trade-off. That big increase in volume will add lag to pressurize the system. Good for big power, not good for throttle response.

I got the full kit from fenix, pipes and intercooler. Quality is amazing. Only thing I would add would be the oem pipe to intercooler fittings to switch back to oem intercooler during ford visits and not having to take out the whole pipe kit. Anyone know any place I can get these alone?

Would updating the intercooler void the factory warranty?
What does and doesn't void warranties is confusing to me. I heard cat backs and intakes do and don't, I don't know what to believe. I don't believe anything that comes out of the ford dealerships here in California.

I got told the piping wont void it but the intercooler will, go figure... The dealer told me just remove the aftermarket intercooler and put the oem back on before coming to the dealership.

Per US law, if the aftermarket part can be blamed for whatever failure occurred, then yes they can void that particular warranty claim.

For example, if you install an aftermarket intercooler and your rear brake caliper seizes up, they cannot blame the intercooler...

True but this is ford we are talking about here... I had a bad cat convertor at 11k miles on my Gen 2 Raptor - the dealer proceeded to tell me the after market intake was to blame

That sucks.
Unfortunately the dealer definitely does have some sway in the decision making process as well…
All the more reason to find a good dealer and build a relationship with them!

As AlpineBike said, anything that is not original to the truck basically can be used to void a given warranty claim. Regardless of whatever it is, always remember this. Most dealers and things will not bat an eye at things like cat back exhaust, piping changes, wheels, tires, brakes, stickers, electrical (only if it was intended, like the aux switches), plates, etc. As soon as you change anything that has to do with how the engine may run is when you run the risk of voiding the warranty or being denied a claim.

Simply removing stuff before going to the dealer also doesnt work, as its very obvious when something has been touched on a car.
