Ranger Raptor-interesting curb weight discovery

[Venice Raptor]

Had to pay an extra fee when registering my Ford Ranger raptor due to "heavy vehicle" surcharge. Did some minor investigating and found the Curb weight of a 2024 ranger raptor 5325 lbs. In comparison the Curb weight of a 2024 F150 club cab 4x4 is between 4800 - 5000 lbs depending on trim level.

4A seems to be the culprit

Its gonna be the sum of all Raptor things. Frame reinforcements, skid plates, 4A transfer case, heavy duty suspension, 3.0l v6, watts link, etc. The base Ranger crew cab is almost 1000lbs lighter than the Raptor.

The crazy thing is that the Ranger Raptor is only like 400lbs lighter than an F150 Raptor.

F-150 body's are aluminum while the Ranger's are (mostly) steel.

I know I could find out with a magnet but is the Ranger Raptor roof steel or aluminum?

According to my magnet the only piece on my raptor that is not steel is the hood (roof is also steel).

Does the Raptor really have frame reinforcement? In which areas? I assume between cab and bed is one area? Shock mounts are probably another?

Hope they incorporate some aluminum panes like in the F150 on the next gen RR to save some weight.

I thought about this thread driving home from work so i stopped on the scale. Its free and about 1.5 miles from home so its easy to stop.
