I’m curious about this miss, did you also have it with a hot engine?
Did you take this issue up with a dealership?

Taking mine in today to check hidden codes, I’ve got two TSB’s (thanks) off your thread to point them in the right direction, hopefully I’ll deal with a competent staff.
Only cold..I did the transmission tab, which I think addresses an idle issue, but it was still there after. I wanted to try the coils anyway and it took my cold stumble away..

Cameras are really up to you. There's a ton of styles. But this is what I used. I changed up the wiring to make running the cable through the grommet eaiser. I had a spare 4 pin wire cable. The rca cable it comes with is too much of a chore to get through the grommet. I went through the harness grommet on the passenger side. I just routed the cable from the camera through the engine compartment next to the airbox and under the expansion tank into the grommet into the cab.

Update on the oil catch can. I made it so that the single can will work on the breather side as well.

Placement of the one way check valve back to the intake. That way boost won't start pushing back into the can in the opposite flow direction.

Breather side. Once vacuum goes away and the vent solenoid opens it now pulls through the can from the valve cover into the intake side of the turbo.

OK I thought that was a flow sensor of some sort. I guess it's not. One more quick question: The hose connector on the valve cover side of the breather tube seems different than the others (at least on our truck) and I haven't yet been able to find the quick release mechanism. Was yours like that too?

I believe it opens up when under boost to allow it to vent as the pcv closes. I gave up on releasing it and dealt with it attached.

LOL! At least I'm not the only one. I'll probably end up doing the same. Better than trying to force it and breaking it, or even worse breaking the male mating connector on the valve cover. My guess is that there must be a special service tool for releasing it unlike the other ones which are QR.

Auto up/down window module adds auto up and down on all windows now plus open, close and vent with remote control on key fob. If you want to be able to leave the windows down when you lock the truck you'll have to leave the wires disconnected and not have the remote features.


If anyone is interested I can start a thread for this as well.

I don't think I've seen anyone that's done reverse tilt with these. No actual door module to program.
For reverse tilt on the OSMs you need memory actuators in the mirrors -- basically they have a potentiometer to sense their position, while external modules can record what the value is and control the actuator to get it back to that value. Since the Ranger doesnt have a door module, there's no point using a more expensive actuator that has unusable features.

Adding the auto-fold is much easier because the mirror actually already has a SOD built into the actuator, so you can just run it for X amount of time without dangerously stalling the motor. This is a lot harder to do with the tilt since those actuators do not have a constant torque in all directions, plus there's the weight of the glass sub to deal with.

The actuator used in the Ranger's outside mirrors is an MM1 actuator, there are versions of the same actuator with that potentiometer that should fit the exact same mounting, but they need an extra connector for the memory functions to work. Excluding the pain of trying to make something that handles the reverse tilt commands, the hard part would be running the extra wiring harness through the mirror. The actuator comes out pretty easy with just three screws (After you pry off the glass sub).

EDIT: Honestly reverse-tilt sounds like it'd be a fun project, but it sounds a bit too much like work (almost exactly the kinds of things i end up working on). Maybe i'll see if i can get work to pay me to work on this :idea:
