Air moving over any surface is very little at the actual surface. There is a very small surface of air between the truck and the flow that actually moves hardly any. I cannot remember what it's called..... not laminar though. You will see it sometimes while driving because the water stops won't move from the hood when you are in the highway.

There is a lot of info on air flow if you read about wing design and aerodynamic shapes. There used to be a website that let you design things and it simulated running the thing in a wind tunnel so you could see the high and low pressure to improve your design for more lift or less drag

I'm just glad on g6 you have a power rear window. I really wanted one on my 2019 , as well as heated steering wheel.

I had a GR86 that had bad wind buffeting with the windows open. I installed a set of these and they really helped. Would something like this help with our trucks?

I guess a lot of you have never had a truck with a sliding rear glass. Every truck I've owned with a sliding rear glass pulls air in through that rear window. Has already been posted, it's merely the aerodynamics of the truck.

sure if it is laminar flow and then there is a boundary layer. And in some cases a boundary layer separation.

which is why in some cases they dirty up a wing to get more turbulence to reattach the flow

butni garantee if you out sand in the hood of the truck it would blow away but if I have sand on the bed rail, about half way back, it just sits there.

that seems pretty surprising to me as I have ridden in the back of pickups back in the day. I’d say these longer cab pickups are calmer in the bed area than old generation pickups.

I always seem to find a combination of windows up or down that eliminates buffeting. Usually its both down on one side. Which creates hella ventilation. Just the other day riding passenger in my wife's Edge, she had both rear windows down partially and the buffeting was driving me crazy. All I did was barely crack my window and it was completely smooth.
