My remote will not remote start my truck for some reason. The app will start it all day, but when I push the X2 on the remote it will not start. Any one else ever experience this and how did you solve it? I have it turned on in the settings?

I think the key is hearing the horn honk twice for it to work.

Now I feel dumb, it worked. Lock button first then 2X on the start button, Duh.
I know the feeling. I ordered a part for a Maverick that would not fit. Returned it, gave it a bad review, and then complained about it on the Maverick forum, warning everyone not to buy it. Then someone pointed out that I was installing it in the wrong spot. As you said, I felt dumb. LOL

I just recent;y figured that out. i wondered why the truck doesn;t recognise that the vehicle is already locked but then I remebered that vehicle 'tech' is designed by dinosaurs and written by idiots.

They want you pressing 2 different buttons because sometimes in your pocket you press auto start accidently. Did it on my old truck a few times to come out to it and it's running(WTF moment).

I suppose, but that it times out and shuts off after 10 minutes would be a failsafe against the thing running unintetionally until it ran out of gas. I just do not think most auto 'tech' is very well written or thought out. i used to own a Tesla and that car had some slick software and tech. That they continually updated it was a bonus. We all understood that Tesla ownership made us all Beta testers.

I had to take the small garage door opener away from my wife. She would keep it in her purse and all the junk in her purse would press the button. Neighbors would call me and say my garage door just went up and down 10 times.

Had to teach my FIL about this the other week when he had an Expedition as his rental. 😆

years ago i had an issue where a new neighbor reprogrammed his garage remote and ironically settled on the same rolling code as mine. Took me a few days of WTF? to figure it out. Ended up reprogramming mine to capture a unique code again rather than be a dick to a new neighbor.
