So I bought an s&b air filter. The dry renewable kind.

it is better made than the OEM filter and has fewer pleats but the pleats are very evenly exposed.

in theory more pleats is more area and let more air in and traps more stuff but the way the pleats are crammed together on the oems filter I wonder how effective they are

The S&B also lets in air from the top via a cone. If you hold it up to the light you can see it has a metal screen

easy install remove with 5 t30 screws holding the filter cover

going into some dusty spots soon so I will see how it does.

I have that filter on my 2.7 Bronco works great. It has a little more pep and gets better mileage, done a lot of off-road miles and performed great!

That's the one I will be getting shortly. Hope it warms up a bit and stops raining so I can work on it.

Nice, I've been looking at different filters and really wanted a cotton one without oil, just ordered one from S&B directly.

Has anybody installed the S&B Cold Air Intake for the 2025 2.7L Ranger? Care to comment for us looking for those who have been there, done that?
I have one sitting in the box ready to go as soon as I get an hour to install it. they are very well reviewed and I've had one on a previous vehicle and it was a trouble free 12-15 bhp gain

Lol I am no mechanic and I will be shocked if I even need the instructions.

Its a safe easy mod. I have at least a week of chaos before I get to this as I am retiring in a month and have a bunch of loose ends that come first (hard deadline). The real question you should be asking is which tune do you pair with it. That's next for my new 26.

Also, has anyone been able to install an S&B cold air intake on a 2026 2.7L? My ride should start assembly this next week.
I don't see that the S&B website shows availability. 🤠
