So I bought an s&b air filter. The dry renewable kind.
it is better made than the OEM filter and has fewer pleats but the pleats are very evenly exposed.
in theory more pleats is more area and let more air in and traps more stuff but the way the pleats are crammed together on the oems filter I wonder how effective they are
The S&B also lets in air from the top via a cone. If you hold it up to the light you can see it has a metal screen
easy install remove with 5 t30 screws holding the filter cover
going into some dusty spots soon so I will see how it does.
