I actually broke the little black retaining clip for the wiring harness on both sides, but everything plugged back in without any issues. I'd say the unplugging the module was actually the hardest part
Same, from what I could tell that black part prevents the clip from being able to come undone. It blocks the push tab to remove the clip. I didn't bother reinstalling them as the tab locked in and felt secure enough to me.

EDIT: this could be incorrect, it was dark and hard to reach so I’m not 100% sure that is the actual function of that black piece, however the connector did clip back together without it so take that as you will.

If something happens down the road (pun intended) i'll update yall.

Not sure if I’ll have my video up by then but the best advise I can give is to get the flexible ratcheting bit driver they recommend. Also loosening the top of the fender is only 1 clip and 3 bolts, gives you about an inch or two of slack. That extra space is a game changer for getting your hands in to access the top two screws that hold the module as well as being able to safely remove the wiring clip!
I'm not the most text-->visual translation person so I'm going to wait for your video to see which clip and bolts you mean. Love the pictures of your truck btw!

Thanks! I’ll grab a quick phone clip for you when I get home, the fender bolts are SUPER easy.

No hurry, I don't have the lights yet and am waiting for them to put a hole in the PCB and some travel to sort out before I actually order and install.

I’m in the same boat, ordered the grille lights with the drl modules around a week ago and still waiting for that shipment notification. But I’m ok waiting if that means I will get pre-drilled pcbs in all 3 places so that I don’t have to break off the 3rd pin on the heat sinks.

I'll be installing mine next weekend. I wanted to do it this weekend, I have a 3 day weekend and it's been raining all weekend so far. It would have been a good project to do in the garage. But after watching the videos I'm not tearing into it without some of the specialty tools recommended in the videos. I ordered the tools and they will be here in a few days.

I don’t really care about breaking off the piece. As someone who’s worked in lighting and generally understands this kind of stuff. I know that it’s just an alignment pin for manufacturing. Great to have if you’re assembling these light heads all day, but not really needed.

Honest review: Looks good. It works. Install was a BITCH for me solo. I still have the passenger side to do after 4 hours. Was it worth for the price and labor involved? For me it's a no but it looks nice.

It's one of those want, but don't really need, mods. Main reason I'm holding off on these for now.
