I was curious, so I wrote a program to download all available 2024 Ranger window stickers, parse the data inside the PDFs, and run some reports.

I used the following patterns to generate valid VINs (using a checksum algorithm):

1FTER4PH{0}RLE12345" //XL
1FTER4BH{0}RLE12345" //XL
1FTER4GH{0}RLE12345" //XLT
1FTER4HH{0}RLE12345" //XLT
1FTER4LR{0}RLE12345" //Raptor
1FTER4KH{0}RLE12345" //Lariat

It's possible I'm missing a VIN combination. If anyone has a VIN that doesn't match that pattern, please let me know.

The program then requested the window stickers for each valid VIN (about 100 thousand or so - sorry ford web admins, I hope I didn't put a strain on your servers) to download every available window sticker. The program found 7881 window stickers as of today.

Here's a summary of what I found based on the info that I gleaned:

Ford Ranger Some Order Data 1710127865498

You may notice the September outlier. That one is puzzling, but I pulled it up in the tracker and saw it had a blend date in September but an order date in October. It says it's still in production. I'm going to presume the data on that one is not correct.

Disclaimer: As far as I know I didn't do anything illegal by compiling this data. I made an effort to spread out my web requests so as to not cause any disruption of Ford's servers. Also, I will say that my dataset may be incomplete so the actual totals may be higher.

Very clever .
Interesting to see the volume of Raptors they are making which the number is not dis-similar to other specs.
In Oz raptors are less than 1 in 25 sales but this may be due to them selling millions of XL and XS to fleet buyers hence why it is now the best selling car here .

I did something similar when the 2016 GT350 manufacturing was spinning up: https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/gt350-allocation-map.34283/

I scraped the dealership address from each window sticker and layered it on top of a US map until Ford caught on and changed the way order and build information was distributed on their website.

Very cool projects.

I'm wondering if you could easily grab the API URL for the pizza-tracker's internal endpoint and start pulling data per VIN to compare order destination & current tracker status. Would be interesting to see if there's any pattern to what hits tracker-status "shipped" first (like a branch-out from ground 0 MAP) or if it is just random.

The problem with the tracker is that it also requires the order number, and they implemented an anti bot check when querying. Probably to prevent this exact thing from working.

I would love to do that if it's possible, but the tracker has reCaptcha on the page that makes it pretty much impossible to automate it.

The window sticker does include the order number, so I have that information. I have used it to manually check the statuses of orders.

The window sticker has the shipping address as well as the invoice address, so that would be fun to do. I don't have time right now, but I've had fun querying the data to see how many Rangers are headed to my town.

The CAPTCHA stuff was implemented about the time we were yanking down all the 2015 and early 2016 GT350 data effectively shutting down our little project. I guess I ruined it for everybody back then!

So, just trying to understand what this tells us. Would this be units built each of these months or is it just VINs generated in each of the months? If I understand it, the VIN is generated and window sticker is available before the unit is in production.
Did this only pull those with a blend date on the window sticker? Again, if I understand correctly (and I may very well not), the blend date is the date on which the body and frame are joined. That would be a good indication that the truck is either built or close to built. So the numbers of windows stickers with a blend date is closer to actual numbers of units built?

Great thread. I'd like to find a "legend' for Ford Window Stickers to see what it tells me about mine.

I did not order a Lariat but i see only one that was missed:
R4J: Ford Ranger Lariat 4x2 SuperCrew ('24-) Engine Code: H

Not sure how many ordered a 4x2 Lariat but I would expect the numbers to change a little. Thanks for taking the time to do this.

I don't know when the VINs were generated - All I know is the blend date that is on the window sticker. The data I have is only for VINs that have window stickers available for download (as of yesterday). All the window stickers I've downloaded have a blend date, even if it's in the future - That's what I'm showing in the reports.

Thanks for letting me know - I'll update my report later today.

I had tried a few hundred R4JH VINs and didn't get any data back so I gave up on it. I guess I didn't try hard enough. I'll try all combinations and get a new report up.

Thanks Gman and Jacfield. Mine is a 4x2 Lariat with the R4JH vin. Blend date is Wednesday!
