I interpret your experience with the Hellcat and the Miata proves your original statement: "The problem is not enough traction"There's an old saying that there's no such thing as too much horsepower. (The problem is not enough traction....)
I used to believe that.
Until I drove a manual transmission Hellcat Challenger. 700 hp is really too much. At every opportunity it will try to kill you... Fun? Hells yeah!! But you need to be capable, and respect it. Screw up and it will kill you.
Compare to say, a Miata. So much fun, not because it's powerful or special, but because you can take it out to curvy road country and drive the living crap out of it. Push it to your limits, maybe even find its limits. Pure driving Fun. My 5.7 manual Challenger with the handling package wasn't the fastest or the best handling car I've owned, but it was one of the most fun. Pure grins.
405 hp in the RR is not too much power. The truck doesn't try to kill you if you aren't careful enough. But it does need better #$@&$ tires!

The stock non-beadlock wheels look good and are about 10lbs lighter. Or you can get somethin aftermarketI want to get rid of the heavy ass factory beadlock capable wheels, I feel like they really are holding back the feeling. I honestly can't tell if I have the FP tune or not. I might try to reflash it.
Maybe not enough room for the axles and transmission.even with a tuned RR at 500HP I think there is still room for the chassis and suspension to handle another 100-200HP nicely, you would certainly need beter on-road tires do it safely.
