I interpret your experience with the Hellcat and the Miata proves your original statement: "The problem is not enough traction"There's an old saying that there's no such thing as too much horsepower. (The problem is not enough traction....)
I used to believe that.
Until I drove a manual transmission Hellcat Challenger. 700 hp is really too much. At every opportunity it will try to kill you... Fun? Hells yeah!! But you need to be capable, and respect it. Screw up and it will kill you.
Compare to say, a Miata. So much fun, not because it's powerful or special, but because you can take it out to curvy road country and drive the living crap out of it. Push it to your limits, maybe even find its limits. Pure driving Fun. My 5.7 manual Challenger with the handling package wasn't the fastest or the best handling car I've owned, but it was one of the most fun. Pure grins.
405 hp in the RR is not too much power. The truck doesn't try to kill you if you aren't careful enough. But it does need better #$@&$ tires!
